'Shut up' - James Maddison labels Tottenham fan a 'wally' having been called out for going to the darts hours after Spurs' disappointing draw with Wolves amid their dire form

Maddison, who started the Wolves match on the bench and came on as a substitute, was seen at Alexandra Palace alongside teammate Brennan Johnson. The pair were watching Gerwyn Price's last-16 showdown against Jonny Clayton at the World Darts Championship.

The decision to attend the event so soon after Tottenham’s underwhelming performance didn’t sit well with fans, especially given the team’s recent slump. The draw marked a third consecutive match without a win for Spurs, who now sit in 11th place in the Premier League table after a dismal December.

One particularly vocal fan expressed their frustration on Instagram, writing: “You taking the p**? The form we're in and you go to the darts? Unacceptable.”

Maddison wasted no time firing back, replying within 12 minutes: “Shut up you wally,” punctuated with a laughing emoji.

Despite briefly taking the lead, Tottenham conceded a late equalizer in the 87th minute, courtesy of Jorgen Strand Larsen. The dropped points allowed Wolves to climb two points clear of the relegation zone while leaving Spurs 11 points adrift of Chelsea in fourth place.

Tottenham will face an in-form Newcastle side on January 4 in a critical Premier League clash. Following that, Spurs will take on Liverpool in a high-stakes two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final.
