'I'm doing well' - Hungary assistant coach Adam Szalai provides positive update after he collapsed on the sideline and was rushed to hospital during Netherlands game

<p>Szalai collapsed during Hungary's 4-0 Nations League loss to Netherlands on Saturday, something that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liverpool-star-dominik-szoboszlai-in-tears-as-netherlands-vs-hungary-is-halted-after-seven-minutes-due-to-medical-emergency/bltb4fbb335e5d115c6" target="_blank">reduced many players to tears</a>. The game was halted while a medical tent was erected around the 36-year-old, who was later rushed to hospital in an ambulance. Now, the former striker has revealed he is on the road to recovery.</p>

I didn't see anything strange about him, he was perfectly fine and looked healthy, it hit us like a bolt from the blue."</p>

WHAT ADAM SZALAI SAID

<p>After the game resumed, the Hungarian Football Association issued a statement on social media.</p><p>It read: "Adam Szalai fell ill in the first minutes of the Netherlands-Hungary match, but his condition is stable and he is conscious. Minutes ago, he was transported by ambulance to an Amsterdam hospital for examination."</p>

<p>Szalai will likely undergo a period of rest before he thinks about returning to his coaching role with Hungary, who host Germany in the Nations League on Tuesday.</p>
