According to Sky Sport Italia reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, former Juventus head coach Motta has been the latest name to be linked with the AC Milan job next season. Sergio Conceicao is set to depart just six months after taking charge of the club, following a string of disappointing results, with the club looking to find a suitable long-term successor to revive their fortunes.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Motta earned a reputation as one of the finest young managers in the world after guiding Bologna to a fifth-place finish in the Serie A in 2023-24, and subsequently a spot in the Champions League. He was appointed by Juventus last summer, but was fired in March after just 42 games in charge. Now unemployed, the Italian becomes the latest manager to join the list of candidates being eyed by Milan to replace Conceicao.
