Fenerbahçe turn their deficit into victory

Andoni Iraola has admitted Liverpool are "sometimes too honest" after a striking statistic showed no Premier League side have conceded more fouls this season. The Reds head to Crystal Palace on Sunday on the back of two straight defeats to Arsenal and Fenerbahce, and their manager wants a response, with Ryan Gravenberch still a doubt because of a heel problem.

Reeling from back-to-back defeats against Arsenal and Fenerbahçe that exposed uncharacteristic defensive fractures, Liverpool journey to Selhurst Park on Sunday determined to reignite their domestic title momentum against an Eagles side buoyed by Thursday's European triumph over Hoffenheim.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk has warned his team-mates that their current defensive form is "not sustainable" following a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahce. The Reds surrendered a late lead in Istanbul, conceding three times from set-pieces to mark a historically poor run in European competition.
