Henk Veerman produced another stunning goal in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie on Sunday. The striker set FC Volendam on their way to a 2-0 win over FC Den Bosch with an acrobatic overhead kick.
The game at the Kras Stadion remained finely poised before the break. Both sides created chances, but neither found a goal in the first 45 minutes.
Then Volendam struck shortly after the restart. Following an attack from a free-kick, Veerman took the ball in the penalty area and beat goalkeeper Pepijn van de Merbel with a brilliant overhead kick: 1-0.
Veerman had done it again. At the end of August, the striker also caught the eye against FC Dordrecht, in a game Volendam won 6-1, with a magnificent backheel.
FC Den Bosch nearly hit back straight away. Devon De Corte, though, fired just wide of the Volendam goal.
Before long, Reuven Niemeijer doubled the home side's lead. The midfielder made it 2-0 in the 64th minute, after Mike Kleijn had escaped a second yellow card shortly before.
Volendam never let their lead slip from there. FC Den Bosch made several substitutions in search of a response, but could not find a way past the home side's goalkeeper and defence.
