Antonio Conte has been impressed by former Barcelona and Aston Villa youngster Adama Traore's pace and the Blues have made contact about a deal

Chelsea have made an approach for Middlesbrough winger Adama Traore, according to Sky Sports.

The former Barcelona forward has been a Boro player for less than five months, having signed from Aston Villa last summer, but has come onto the Blues' radar thanks to his impressive pace.

He is yet to register a goal or an assist for Aitor Karanka's side in 15 appearances across all competitions.

Chelsea's hopes of signing Traore could be boosted by ongoing negotiations that could see forward Patrick Bamford loaned to the Riverside Stadium.
