Cristiano Ronaldo made more Champions League history in Real Madrid’s 3-0 win over Juventus on Tuesday.

The Portuguese star required less than three minutes to open the scoring in the quarter-final first leg, before adding a spectacular bicycle kick in the second half.

The Blancos took to the field at the Allianz Stadium hoping to lay down an early marker in the first leg of a heavyweight continental clash.

Their talismanic forward duly delivered once again, with Ronaldo enhancing his reputation as a man for the big occasion.

Already the all-time leading goalscorer in the competition, the Portuguese is back at the top of the charts for 2017-18 and is showing no sign of slowing down.

Ronaldo's double took him to 39 goals in all competitions this season – more than any other player in Europe’s big five leagues.

The Portuguese has now scored nine Champions League goals against Juventus, with no player having scored more goals against a single opponent in the competition.

He is also now the first man in the competition’s history to score in 10 successive appearances, with the records continuing to tumble for the remarkable talent who raises the bar year after year.

Ronaldo will be hoping that there are many more goals to come, with Real chasing down a third Champions League crown in as many years.

He has played a leading role in previous triumphs and is looking to win his fifth European title in total.
