Chelsea are continuing to assess the future of Ukrainian Mykhailo Mudryk, with a number of clubs keen to land him before the summer transfer window shuts.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Blues rejected a season-long loan offer from Leeds United for Mudryk after the two clubs held talks over the weekend.
Leeds simply did not offer enough. Chelsea want Mudryk to join a side that will guarantee him a heavy chunk of minutes across the season.
The winger himself remains open to a switch to Elland Road, so the deal could yet resurface before deadline day. In the meantime, Chelsea are weighing up alternative offers from clubs in England and Europe.
Strasbourg, Chelsea's sister club, retain their interest, and Brentford are monitoring his situation too. Mudryk, though, wants to stay in the Premier League.
He has not featured in a single official match for Chelsea since November 2024. His doping case was settled over the summer, though, clearing him to return to the first team's competitions.
The Ukraine international caught the eye during pre-season under Xabi Alonso, but he faces a queue of attacking options at Stamford Bridge. Pedro Neto, Geovany Quenda, Jamie Gittens, Estêvão, Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers are all fighting for a place.
Both Chelsea and Mudryk agree, according to the report, that a move away from the club to play regular football elsewhere could benefit him this season.
Alonso lavished praise on the winger over pre-season, calling him a special player. The Spaniard said he remembers tracking Mudryk during his Shakhtar days, admiring his ability to make a difference in one-on-ones and to conjure chances through sheer individual effort, but he stressed that it would take time.
Expect the coming days to be decisive for Mudryk's future, with Chelsea still running the rule over their options before the market closes.
