Kenneth Perez delivers a damning verdict in Dit Was Het Weekend on the Feyenoord supporters who set off rockets against SC Cambuur. The analyst even feels sorry for the people responsible for the chaos in Leeuwarden.
"To have to go through life with such a low IQ," sighs a stunned Perez after watching the footage from Cambuur's stadium. "That seems really difficult to me. That you can be so stupid and then be proud of it as well. Like: look at us being the tough guys."
After the home match against Feyenoord, Cambuur confirmed that five supporters were injured. "Those people could just as easily have suffered permanent damage. If you can think even the tiniest bit, it doesn't even have to be very much, then you just don't do this, do you?"
Nothing about the behaviour of Feyenoord's travelling support sits right with Perez. The former midfielder, who played for among others Ajax and PSV, wants the KNVB to come down hard in cases like this.
"Just dock Feyenoord three points in this case. And if it happens again: six points," Perez offers by way of free advice to the Dutch football association.
Valentijn Driessen also condemns the Feyenoord fans who suddenly set off fireworks in Cambuur's away end. "They are simply criminals," he says in a video item by De Telegraaf.
Because of the chaotic scenes, the match in Leeuwarden was suspended. Feyenoord then went on to win 2-5, a result that leaves them third in the Vriendenloterij Eredivisie.
