Man Utd, Barcelona & Real Madrid offered encouraging update on Milinkovic-Savic's future

Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid and the many suitors of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic have been offered transfer hope by Lazio.

The Serbia international has registered on the recruitment radar of leading clubs across Europe for some time now.

His exploits in 2017-18 saw a big-money move mooted, with Premier League and La Liga interest building as he contributed 14 goals to the Lazio cause.

A disappointing World Cup and slow start to the current campaign has dampened the excitement around the 23-year-old somewhat, but he remains a performer many sides would gladly take.

Lazio put fresh terms in place with the midfielder over the summer in an effort to fend off that interest, with his new deal set to take him through to 2023.

Claudio Lotito has, however, conceded that a man who has also been linked with Serie A rivals AC Milan and Juventus could be lured away from the Italian capital if a suitable offer is tabled.

The Lazio president told Calciomercato: “In today's football, it's difficult for a player to tie himself to just one club for the rest of his career, but at Lazio we are doing well. Our players show great affection to the club.

“Milinkovic-Savic? Unfortunately, Lazio don't have the same economic potential as Barcelona and Real Madrid.

“When the conditions are on our side, and an offer you can't refuse arrives, then we will face the matter.”

Milinkovic-Savic has netted just once in 15 outings this term.

Lazio have enjoyed a positive opening to the 2018-19 campaign as a collective, though, and currently sit fourth in the Serie A standings.
