Agudelo set for Liga MX switch


New England Revolution attacker Juan Agudelo is contemplating a move south to an unnamed Liga MX club, according to MLS Soccer.

The 26-year-old is also thought to be on the radar of lower-level clubs in Spain and Turkey.

The United States international recorded just three goals in 30 league appearances this season.

Monaco missed out on Di Maria


Angel di Maria was poised to join Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco in 2014 before a prospective deal fell through and the Argentine joined Manchester United, says Luis Campos, per RMC Sport.

In a televised interview, the Lille Sporting Director, formerly at ASM and Real Madrid, admitted that the PSG star was set for an earlier move to the French top-flight, before financial details saw him opt for the Red Devils.

“He didn't sign because at that moment, we didn't have enough money to bring him. He thought hard about it. He chose [Manchester United] in the end,” Campos said.

Fabregas faces pay cut to stay at Chelsea


Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas would be forced to take a significant pay cut if he is to remain at Stamford Bridge, according to the Evening Standard.

The Blues star is yet to start a game under Maurizio Sarri but remains committed to earning a new contract as he enters the final year of his current deal.

However, it is expected that he will be forced to see a decrease in his current wage packet if he is to agree new terms with the West London club.

Real Madrid join chase to sign Suso


Real Madrid are among the sides aiming to sign Suso from AC Milan, according to Sport Mediaset (via Calciomercato).

The Spain forward has impressed for Gennaro Gattuso's side this season having managed four goals and seven assists in 10 Serie A appearances.

Chelsea and Atletico Madrid are among the sides to have been linked with the former Liverpool man, but it seems they could now have competition from the current Champions League holders, too.

Gomes delighted with 'best decision' to join Everton


Andre Gomes has expressed his delight at choosing to join Everton on loan from Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

The Portugal midfielder has also revealed that he sought advice from the likes of Phil Neville and Lucas Digne before making the move to Goodison Park.

The 25-year-old made his debut for the Toffees last month after being sidelined by a hamstring injury at the start of the season.

Roma defiant on El Shaarawy despite West Ham interest


Roma have insisted that forward Stephan El Shaarawy is not for sale, despite Premier League interest from West Ham, report Tuttomercatoweb.

The 26-year-old has managed three goals in eight Serie A appearances so far this season, with Roma currently placed eighth in the league table.

West Ham are believed to have an interest in the Italian, but Eusebio Di Francesco's side are apparently keen to hand him a new contract in the near future.

The Hammers have also been linked with El Shaarawy's Roma teammate Edin Dzeko, only for manager Manuel Pellegrini to dismiss those rumours last month.

Klopp eyes Dembele swoop


Dembele a Liverpool target

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring Ousmane Dembele to Merseyside if the Frenchman is to leave Barcelona in the near future, per Mundo Deportivo.

Dembele is out of favour with the Spanish champions and has been unable to force his way into regular contention under Ernesto Valverde.

Klopp had hoped to lure the 21-year-old to Anfield before he moved to Camp Nou – and will now harbour stronger hopes of securing his signature.

James faces five options for future


Dissatisfied James Rodriguez will be able to choose from one of five potential destinations should he quit Bayern Munich, reports Don Balon.

The Columbia international, on loan from Real Madrid, would be keen to return to his parent club depending on the appointment of Julen Lopetegui’s successor.

However, he is also said to have offers from the Serie A duo of Juventus and Napoli to mull over, along with the Premier League pair of Chelsea and Arsenal.

Lascelles plays down talk of departure


Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles says that speculation around his future was never serious before he penned a new deal, according to Sky Sports News.

The Magpies star agreed fresh terms and signed a six-year contract earlier today, following rumours that fellow Premier League rivals Chelsea and West Ham had mooted a move for the 24-year-old.

"All that speculation, I don't think anything was serious. Now I can focus on Newcastle completely with no other distractions," Lascelles added after committing his future to the club.

Deulofeu quashes chance of Barca return


Watford star Gerard Deulofeu has ruled out a third return to Barcelona, admitting that he found the ‘new Messi’ tag of his youth ‘difficult’, per the Watford Observer.

The Hornets midfielder has enjoyed a fine campaign so far, with Javi Gracia’s side seventh in the Premier League, but is determined to put his history with the Catalan club behind him.

“I said I will not come back to Barcelona. I don't want to try three times; it's too hard," the 24-year-old Spaniard said.

Juventus lead scramble for Chiesa


Fiorentina appear set to lose star winger Federico Chiesa, with Serie A's biggest clubs circling for the 21-year-old, according to Tuttosport.

Juventus seem to be in the lead as they seek a repeat of the deal that brought Federico Bernardeschi to Turin in 2017, but Inter and Napoli have also been credited with interest. 

Chiesa has made 73 league appearances for Fiorentina, scoring 11 goals and notching 16 assists in the process.

Belgian FA warn Real Madrid over Martinez


The Belgian FA say they have not been contacted by Real Madrid regarding Roberto Martinez, and issued a warning to the Bernabeu hierarchy, claiming they would not put up with any tapping up of their head coach, according to Sky Sports News.

The club sacked Julen Lopetegui on Monday, and Los Blancos chiefs are keen to appoint the former Wigan and Everton manager as soon as possible.

Belgium lost a key member of their coaching staff when Thierry Henry accepted his first head coaching role at former club Monaco last month.

Arsenal to move for Tagliafico


Arsenal are planning to bolster their left-back options by signing Nicolas Tagliafico from Ajax, according to Calciomercato.

The Argentine is seen as a replacement for Nacho Monreal, who turns 33 in February. 

However, the 26-year-old only joined Ajax in January, and the club may not be willing to sell after just a year.

Liverpool not interested in Ramsey


Out-of-contract Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a host of clubs, but Liverpool are not interested in him, according to Sky Sports News.

Jurgen Klopp's side have just brought in two central midfielders this season, Naby Keita and Fabinho, and are well-stocked in the position.

The Merseyside club have previously been identified as a possible destination for the Welshman, who will leave the Gunners on a free transfer at the end of the season, alongside Manchester United, Chelsea and Italian sides Juventus and AC Milan.

Dortmund have no intention of selling Sancho


Borussia Dortmund head coach Lucien Favre claims his side are not planning to sell teenage sensation Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Sports News.

PSG were credited with interest in the English winger, but have since stated their surprise at the links.

The 18-year-old joined Dortmund from Manchester City in 2017, and has already recorded five goals and eight assists in all competitions so far this season, helping his club to the summit of the Bundesliga.

Three-way tug-of-war for Doucoure?


Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has reportedly attracted interest from PSG, Liverpool and Arsenal, according to RMC Sport.

The French midfielder is seen as competition and back-up for first-choice holding midfield pairing Marco Verratti and Adrien Rabiot in Paris, while Liverpool and Arsenal appear set to lose James Milner and Aaron Ramsey, respectively, on free contracts at the end of the season.

However, Doucoure is under contract until 2023, and could cost around €40m. 

Ajax receive 'mysterious' €70m De Jong offer


21-year-old Ajax midfielder Frenkie De Jong has reportedly been the subject of a €70m bid from an unknown team, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The prodigious talent has long been linked with Barcelona, but sources in Spain believe the bid to have come from Manchester City

However, the Barcelona hierarchy are confident that the player, whose contract runs until 2022, is in no rush to leave and will eventually choose them over City.

PSG eye Sanchez swoop


PSG have been linked with a shock swoop for Manchester United forward Alexis Sanchez, according to The Sun.

The Ligue 1 giants could lose one of Neymar or Kylian Mbappe in the summer if Real Madrid come calling, and could look to the Chilean as a direct replacement.

Sanchez has underwhelmed since leaving Arsenal for United, scoring just three Premier League goals since the switch, and those at Old Trafford could be keen to shift his astronomical wages.

Sterling verbally agrees Manchester City extension


Raheem Sterling has verbally agreed a lucrative new five-year Manchester City contract, according to Sky Sports News.

The champions had been hoping to tie the England forward down for a matter of months.

And though he has not officially put pen to paper, it looks as though the former Liverpool man is on the verge of extending his stay at the Etihad.

The Mail report the deal is worth a whopping £300,000 a week, a nig hike on his current £180,000-a-week pay packet.

Arsenal don't want Fabregas return


Arsenal are not planning to take Spaniard Cesc Fabregas back to the Emirates, according to reports in Spain.

The 31-year-old former Gunners captain - who has played just 12 minutes for Chelsea so far this season - didn't rule out a return to his former club when asked recently.

But, according to Mundo Deportivo, that is not only the cards with an Arsenal source quoted as saying: Arsenal source as saying: “We do not consider the return of Cesc.”

PSG want Fabinho on loan


Fabinho could leave Liverpool on loan in January, according Le Parisien, with PSG mooted as a potential destination.

The Brazilian midfielder only arrived from Monaco in a £44milion deal in the summer.

He is said to be 'bored' by his lack of involvement under Jurgen Klopp so far, though he has started Liverpool's last two games, against Cardiff and Red Star Belgard, after a slow start to life on Merseyside.

Mourinho could be denied January targets


The Old Trafford board are ready to veto the Portuguese's targets if they disagree with his choices.

Jose Mourinho may be set for another disappointing transfer window as the Manchester United chiefs prepare to veto any transfer targets that do not match their long-term vision, according to ESPN.

The Portuguese was denied the likes of Jerome Boateng and Toby Alderweireld over concerns about age and fitness, while Harry Maguire's price tag was viewed as inflated. 

The United manager is thought to be concentrating on younger targets this time around, however, in an attempt to get the players he wants.

Chelsea circle as Rice's contract talks drag on


Chelsea are monitoring Declan Rice's contract situation at West Ham, according to the Daily Star.

Negotiations over a new deal have dragged on, with the defensive midfielder reportedly turning down the Hammers' latest offer.

The 19-year-old was released by Chelsea's academy in 2014, but could be keen to rejoin the Blues, particularly if they offer him a significant pay rise.

Juventus keen on out-of-contract Mata


Juventus are hoping to land Manchester United's Juan Mata in January, according to the Evening Standard.

The Spaniard's contract has just six months left to run and, if United fail to tie him down on a new deal, he could be available for free at the end of the season.

The Italian giants have made a habit of securing top talent on cut-price deals, and selling Mata abroad may be a more attractive option to those at Old Trafford than allowing him to join a domestic rival for free.

German giants chasing Marseille's Sanson


Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are leading the chase for Morgan Sanson, according to Buzzsport.

Up to a dozen clubs are said to be keeping tabs on the promising 24-year-old Marseille midfielder.

Dortmund boss Lucien Favre is, apparently, an admirer from his time in Ligue 1 as Nice manager, while Bayern have a history of successfully recruiting French players.

Vieri has a pop at 'Instagram strikers'


Italy great Christain Vieri has put the boot into the modern goalscorers, saying they are more interested in Instagram than scoring goals.

The former centre-forward (below), who starred for a host of clubs in his home country, was critical of the modern generation - including his Inter successor Mauro Icardi.

Vieiri, 45, blasted: “Nowadays you just need a good Instagram to be a striker.”

Dortmund lead chase for Foden


Borussia Dortmund are leading the chase for Manchester City youngster Phil Foden, according to the Daily Mail

The Bundesliga club can offer first-team football to the youngster, unlike Pep Guardiola due to City's loaded squad.

But the report also claims that BVB believe they can land the youngster for a development fee which could be as low as £175,000 while City struggle to get a new deal done for the 18-year-old.  

Spurs hopeful of new deal for Eriksen


Tottenham are hopeful that Christian Eriksen will be the next star player to sign an extension with the club, according to the Evening Standard

Spurs inked Dele Alli to a new deal on Tuesday and would like to lock down another midfield star in the near future. 

The club have been in talks with Eriksen since last season regarding an extension to his current deal, which runs through 2020, but have failed to find the right terms to get a new deal done. 

Wenger to return to football in 2019


He doesn't know where he'll be, but former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be coming back to football in 2019.
