Orlando City adds Brazilian defender


Orlando City has looked to add to its league-worst defense by signing Brzilian defender Ruan, the club announced.

The Lions led MLS in goals conceded in 2018 and are looking to rebuild that backline after missing the postseason yet again.

Ruan, a right back, joins after previously featuring in the top two divisions in his native country

Dynamo Kiev sign Willem II striker


Dynamo Kiev have signed Fran Sol from Willem II, the club confirmed.

The 26-year-old Real Madrid academy product has previously played for Rayo Vallecano, Real Oviedo and Villarreal before finding a home in the Netherlands.

He scored 38 goals in 78 games for the Dutch club after joining in 2016.


Calhanoglu nears move to RB Leipzig


Hakan Calhanoglu is nearing a move to RB Leipzig, according to ESPN.

The midfielder has been linked with a move away from AC Milan, although he started in the club's Supercoppa Italiana loss to Juventus on Wednesday.

The Turkish international has featured 17 times in Serie A this season.

Timbers acquire Dielna from Revs


The Portland Timbers have acquired the rights to defender Claude Dielna from the New England Revolution in exchange for $100,000 in General Allocation Money, the club announced.

Dielna appeared in 28 games over two seasons for the Revs after previously featuring for Sheffield Wednesday, Ajaccio and Olympiacos.

“Our coaching staff has a strong belief that Claude will be a very solid central defender within our group,” said head coach Giovanni Savarese.

“His qualities will pair well with an already strong defensive contingent. He has shown great motivation in coming to Portland, and we anticipate him being a positive addition as he integrates with our club this preseason.”

LAFC re-signs Silva and Jakovic


Los Angeles FC has signed defenders Danilo Silva and Dejan Jakovic to new contracts.

The club announced that Silva, who initially joined the club on loan from Internacional, will remain as will Canadian international Jakovic.

“Re-signing Danilo and Dejan was always part of our offseason plan, and we’re excited that both players will be returning in 2019,” said General Manager and EVP of Soccer Operations John Thorrington.

“Danilo and Dejan add veteran leadership and experience to the group, and we’re confident they will both contribute to the success of our Club.”

Dembele set to sign in China


Mousa Dembele is in China to finalize a transfer to Guangzhou R&F, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Tottenham midfielder is set to undergo a medical and sign a contract to seal a £11 million move.

Dembele has been with Tottenham since joining from Fulham in 2012.

Liverpool target Dabbur to undergo Sevilla medical


Salzburg striker Munas Dabbur has arrived in Spain to undergo a medical with Sevilla. 

The 26-year-old emerged as a targed for Liverpool, who have been linked with a £22 million (€25m/$28m) move for the Israel international.

Cardiff City have landed Everton striker Oumar Niasse on loan until the end of the season, Sky Sports reports. 

The Senegal striker has fallen out of favour at Goodison Park this term, making just five league appearances thus far. 

Niasse is expected to take a medical in south Wales on Wednesday evening.

Bayern Munich head coach Niko Kovac has admitted that midfielder James Rodriguez is playing for his future with the club. 

Rodriguez is in the final six months of a two-year loan from Real Madrid, and has struggled with injuries this term.

Fiorentina turn down Monaco approach for Hancko


Fiorentina have turned down a loan offer from Monaco for left-back David Hancko, reports Le10Sport

The 21-year-old has just two league appearances for the Viola this season, but the club has still rejected Monaco's approach.

Monaco are also targeting Sporting CP's Marcos Acuna at the left-back position. 

Ex-Madrid president: There was no post-Ronaldo plan


Former Real Madrid president Vicente Boluda has expressed his surprise that the club didn't have a better plan in place aftter selling Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus. 

Madrid's all-time leading scorer departed in the summer, with Marcelo Diaz and Vinicius Jr. the club's main attacking reinforcements brought in.

Mislintat set to leave as Arsenal


Arsenal head of recruitment Sven Mislintat is set to leave the club just one year after joining from Borussia Dortmund, Goal understands. 

The German is nicknamed ‘Diamond Eye’ for his track record of finding top players during his time in the Bundesliga.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Manchester City are after Hajduk midfielder Ante Palaversa.

The 18-year-old is seen as one of Croatia's rising stars, hacing captained the country's U-19 team.

Manchester City is looking to buy the midfielder and then keep him on loan in Hajduk until the summer.

Timbers sign Slovenian goalkeeper


The Portland Timbers have signed Slovenian goalkeeper Aljaz Ivacic, according to the Oregonian.

Ivacic has played for Slovenian side NK Olimpija Ljubljana since 2017 and now joins a goalkeeping corps featuring veteran Jeff Attinella and Steve Clark.

The Timbers fell to Atlanta United in the MLS Cup final in December.

Real Madrid are reportedly after Eder Militao as the 20-year-old continues to impress with Porto.

It's been a swift rise for the Brazilian, who moved to Portugal from Sao Paolo this past summer and has already become a top target.

Sevilla signs Wober


Sevilla has finalized the signing of Max Wober from Ajax, the club announced on Wednesday.

The defender arrives on loan with an option to buy having already signed a contract through 2023.

Wober, who has earned one cap for Austria, made 16 appearances for Ajax this season.

Martinez signs extension with Atlanta United


Josef Martinez has signed a five-year extension to remain with Atlanta United.

The Venezuelan star had proved dominant since moving to MLS, winning the league MVP award in 2018 while leading Atlanta to an MLS Cup.

English & Scottish clubs want Scotland international

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay could be set for a loan move away from Old Trafford.

BBC Sport claims loan offers have come in for the 22-year-old Scotland international, who has made just seven Premier League appearance for the Red Devils this season, but only one of those has come under new coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The bids are said to be from English and Scottish clubs keen to take him for the rest of the season, but United have not decided if they will let him go.

Watford make €16m Kamano bid


Watford have made an improved offer for Bordeaux attacker Francois Kamano, according to France Football.

The Premier League side had their initial €13 million (£12m/$15m) bid rejected for the winger, who can play on both sides as well as up front.

They have returned with a new offer worth €16m (£14m/$18m), but Bordeaux are said to want closer to €20m (£18m/$23m) while Kamano is said to prefer a switch to Monaco.

Cardiff close in on £18m Sala signing


Cardiff City are expected to wrap up the signing of Emiliano Sala for £18 million ($23m) from Nantes this month.

The Welsh club have been linked with the 28-year-old forward for some time and are Sky Sports claims they about to break their transfer record to land him in January.

The Argentine is could be confirmed on time for him to make the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash against Newcastle.

Chelsea to offer Cech return after Arsenal exit


Chelsea will try to bring Petr Cech back to Stamford Bridge after he retires from football at the end of the season.

The goalkeeper announced that he will bring an end to his playing career once the campaign comes to an end.

Chelsea have developed a recent trend of offering jobs to their iconic former players and could reach out to the Gunners shot stopper, who has not decided on what he will do next.

The 26-year-old told French media last week that he does not plan on staying at Vicarage Road for the long term.

But Sky Sports News reports Watford have no intention of selling Doucoure, who is said to be a target of Paris Saint-Germain, and are demanding over £39 million ($50m) for him.

Barcelona working on Alba renewal - Bartomeu


Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu says he is sure Jordi Alba will sign a new contract with the club.

The left-back's current deal expires in the summer of 2020, but the prospect of him spending the rest of his career at Camp Nou has been raised.

And Bartomeu expects him to stay for a few more years, at least, as he told Sport: "Of course he will continue. We are already working with him for a long renewal, for the next five years."

Napoli's Lobotka bid rejected


Napoli have had an offer for Stanislav Lobotka rejected by Celta Vigo, Tuttomercatoweb says.

The Serie A side tried to get the 24-year-old midfielder on loan for the rest of the season with an option to buy him outright.

However, their advances have been knocked back by Celta, who would rather hold on to him until at least the summer.

AC Milan could sell Calhanoglu to sign Piatek


AC Milan are considering selling Hakan Calhanoglu to fund their pursuit of Krzysztof Piatek, says Corriere della Sera.

The Rossoneri are leading the race to sign the 23-year-old striker, but Genoa's €45 million (£40m/$51m) asking price is beyond their reach.

Sporting director Leonardo is not giving up on their chances of landing the free-scoring striker and may have to offload a player to fund his transfer, with Turkey international Calhanoglu the one who will be forced out to make room.

Bayern keen on Mislintat



Bayern Munich could swoop for Arsenal's head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, according to Bild.

The 46-year-old was only brought in by the Gunners from Dortmund in November 2017, but is apparently intent on leaving the club as they look to appoint a technical director.

And it is now claimed that the Bundesliga champions will consider offering Mislintat a role with them as he looks to move on from his spell in north London.

The 23-year-old striker has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan and Real Madrid for his exploits in Serie A.

West Ham have apparently tried to swoop in ahead of the European giants with an offer of their own but Genoa are holding out for more and do not want to let him go in January.

Chelsea to offer Cech role at the club


Chelsea will offer Petr Cech a role at the club after his retirement, according to the Daily Mail. 

The Arsenal goalkeeper confirmed on Tuesday that he will retire at the end of the current season. 

Cech, who spent 11 seasons with the Blues, could be offered an ambassadorial role, or a coaching position in the club’s academy.

Milan are looking to move for Sporting CP defender Tiago Djalo, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. 

Lazio are also interested in the 18-year-old, who has represented Portugal across various youth national team levels. 

Sturridge could make MLS move


Liverpool striker ​Daniel Sturridge is set for contract offers from Major League Soccer, claims The Sun. 

The 29-year-old has been used sparingly this season, and is in the final six months of his contract with the league leaders. 

New York City FC, who are looking a replacement for David Villa, have been mooted as a possible landing spot for Sturridge. 

Manchester United could sell Fellaini this month


Manchester United may consider selling midfielder Marouane Fellaini this month, according to the Daily Mail. 

Fellaini was frequently used by former manager Jose Mourinho, but has fallen out of favour under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Belgian's high wages could see United look to cash in on him, with Milan, Porto and clubs from China and Turkey all interested. 

Bournemouth to bid £15m for Mepham


Bournemouth are set to bid £15 million ($19m) for Brentford centre-back Chris Mepham, reports The Sun. 

The Cherries have been eyeing the 21-year-old Wales international for some time, having failed in a £10m ($13m) bid last summer. 

Eddie Howe's side will return with an increased bid, as they look to hold off interest from Southampton.

Atletico won't commit to purchasing Morata


Atletico Madrid are refusing to commit to purchasing Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata, either this month or in the summer, according to the Daily Mail. 

Morata is looking for a way out of Stamford Bridge this month, but Atletico are only willing to take the 26-year-old on a six-month loan without a commitment to buy. 

That could end up killing a deal, with the Blues looking to raise funds as they look to sign a new striker themselves.

Eriksen far from new Tottenham deal


Real Madrid will be encouraged by the Dane's contract status

Real Madrid have been given a boost as Tottenham star ​Christian Eriksen is far from agreeing a new Spurs deal, according to AS.

The 26-year-old's current contract expires at the end of next season, and talks over an extension have gone almost nowhere thus far.  

That will encourage the Blancos, who are looking to swoop for the Denmark midfielder. 

West Ham reject €10m Obiang bid from Fiorentina


West Ham have rejected Fiorentina's bid of €10 million (£9m/$11m) for Pedro Obiang, according to Sky Sports. 

The 26-year-old midfielder has made 18 appearances for the Hammers this season. 

West Ham would only consider selling the former Sampdoria man if they are able to bring in a replacement.

Leicester City are lining up Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers to replace Claude Puel, reports The Sun.

Puel's job is under increasing pressure, and he could be sacked if the Foxes lose to Wolves at Molineux on Saturday.

Former Liverpool boss Rodgers would be keen on a return to the Premier League after a successful two-and-a-half year run in Scotland. 

Arsenal eye cut-price James move


The Colombian has fallen out of favour at Bayern Munich

Arsenal are interested in a six-month loan move for James Rodriguez, according to the Daily Mail. 

The 27-year-old has seen his playing time diminish at Bayern Munich, where he is entering the final six months of a two-year loan deal from Real Madrid. 

The Gunners may look to sign the Colombian star for the second half of 2018-19 in a deal that could only cost them £3 million.

Borussia Dortmund make contact with Lobotka


Borussia Dortmund have made contact with Stanislav Lobotka's entourage over a possible move, Le10Sport claims. 

The Celta Vigo midfielder has generated interest from clubs all over Europe, with PSG and Napoli among the parties keen on a move for the midfielder.

Dortmund are eyeing Lobotka as a possible replacement for Julian Weigl, who could leave the club in the summer.

Milan prepared to make Piatek bid


Milan are set to make a bid for Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek, Calciomercato reports. 

The Rossoneri will make a loan offer with a purchase option, as they seek out a potential replacment for Chelsea-linked Gonzalo Higuain. 

Piatek, 23, has scored 19 goals in 21 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo will likely depart the club in the summer, according to The Telegraph.

Injuries and ineffectiveness have limited the 29-year-old to just 149 minutes of game time this season.

Rojo's injury troubles will limit his market in January, but he is likely to be sold in the summer as United look to clear wages off their books.

Porto defender Eder Militao would prefer a move to the Premier League over La Liga, according to UOL Sport. 

The 20-year-old is in high demand, with Liverpool, Everton and Manchester United joining Real Madrid and others as interested parties. 

But Militao, who has a contract through 2023, has reportedly decided to turn down Madrid in favour of a move to England.
