Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has refused to rule out a return to the club in a technical role.

“It all depends on the shape of the job,” he told FourFourTwo when questioned about a possible return - possibly as United's new technical director.

West Bromwich Albion are believed to be close to naming former West Ham manager Slaven Bilic as the club's new head coach.

According to the Express & Star, the deal is not yet completed but is in its "final stages".

The Croatian is West Brom's favoured candidate after recent talks, and an offer is on the table.

Besiktas are still hopeful of landing Everton's Nikola Vlasic this summer, and are planning another meeting with the Merseysiders according to Turkish daily Takvim.

Liverpool will not be making a bid for Lille star Nicolas Pepe, Evening Standard claims.

The 24-year-old winger has been linked with several top teams in Europe after scoring 22 goals and making 11 assists in Ligue 1.

But Liverpool will not be following up on their reported interest this summer as they are hesitant to spend big sums in the transfer window and are instead hoping to tie Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to a new contract.

Dortmund striker Isak to join Real Sociedad


Alexander Isak is on the verge of joining Real Socidedad from Borussia Dortmund, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The 19-year-old striker impressed on loan at Willem II when he scored 13 goals in 16 Eredivisie appearances.

Barcelona were said to be interested in the Sweden international, who had been linked with Real Madrid before he signed for Dortmund, but Sociedad are set to snap him up for €10 million (£9m/$11m).

Marseille & Monaco join Watford & Newcastle in Mateta batle


Marseille and Monaco are eager to sign Mainz star Jean-Philippe Mateta this summer, Le 10 Sport reports.

The 21-year-old striker has been with the German side for one season but scored 14 goals in the Bundesliga, impressing enough to catch the eye of Watford and Newcastle.

Ligue 1 sides Marseille and Monaco hope to bring him back to his homeland and his agent has suggested to both clubs that a deal could be worked out.

But Mainz are hopeful of extending his contract to hold off foreign bids, even though he has three years left on his current one.

Lazio have made contact with Arjen Robben over a summer move, according to Il Messaggero.

The 35-year-old winger is available for free after leaving Bayern Munich and has been linked with several clubs. While his former sides PSV and Groningen have been open about their desire to sign him, there is also talk of teams from the United States reaching out.

But the former Netherlands star could be heading to Italy instead, as he is said to be interested in Lazio's proposal.

'Wan-Bissaka not ready for Man Utd'


Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been warned not to join Manchester United because it is too early.

The 21-year-old is wanted by the Red Devils, who are said to be lining up a new bid after having their initial offer rejected.

Burnley battle to re-capture former striker Rodriguez


Burnley are interested in signing former striker Jay Rodriguez, according to the Lancashire Telegraph

The West Brom man is said to be available for a cut-price fee of around £5 million plus bonuses after the midlands outfit failed to win promotion back to the Premier League last season.

However, the Clarets face competition from a number of other sides, and will need to get a deal done before a clause in the 29-year-old's contract expires in mid-July.

In-demand Benfica star Joao Felix has a new set of admirers in Atletico Madrid, according to a report from AS.

The coveted teen has attracted interest from the likes of JuventusManchester United and Manchester City this summer, while Wolves were linked with a move for the 19-year-old attacker before the end of last season.

His release clause is set at £105m, and reports in Spain suggest Atleti boss Diego Simeone has made the Portuguese international his number one target.

Boca Juniors sporting director Nicolas Burdisso is hopeful of bringing Daniele De Rossi to Argentina, despite reports claiming he is set to join Los Angeles FC. Roma great De Rossi left the Serie A club at the end of the 2018-19 season but insisted he was not planning to retire.

Marsh signs new Tottenham contract


Tottenham midfielder George Marsh has signed a new contract that ties the midfielder to the North London club until 2021.

The 20-year-old has been a regular in Spurs' U-23 side and made his first-team debut in the pre-season International Champions Cup tournament in America, where he played against against Roma and AC Milan. He went on to appear in the FA Cup against Tranmere Rovers in January this year.

Chelsea to meet Lampard as Ajax coach Ten Hag remains cautious


Chelsea are set to meet with Frank Lampard to discuss the manager’s role at Stamford Bridge as Juventus prepare to announce the appointment of Maurizio Sarri as their new coach.

Ajax's Erik ten Hag has also been considered, but he is cautious about signing on with the Blues due to the transfer ban that is currently in place at the club.

Man Utd refuse to entertain Pogba offers


Real Madrid are hoping the midfielder makes a public demand to leave the club

Real Madrid are not optimistic about signing Paul Pogba as Manchester United will not entertain any offers for their midfielder, according to AS.

Reports have said United might be willing to let Pogba leave for €150 million (£143m/$181m), but the Red Devils have refused to name any number, insisting he is a cornerstone of the club's plans.

Madrid are left hoping Pogba attempts to publicly speak of a desire to leave, like Christian Eriksen has, to get United to come to the negotiating table. 

Chelsea's Ola Aina set to join Torino on permanent deal


Chelsea have agreed a deal to sell defender Ola Aina to Torino this summer, Goal understands.

The 22-year-old, who is a product of the Blues’ youth system, spent last season on loan with the Serie A club and looks to set to return there permanently.

Speaking to Sky Italy, Torino president Urbano Cairo confirmed that the club have exercised their option to buy Aina with the defender's current deal set to expire at the end of June.

Chelsea have six-man manager shortlist


Frank Lampard, Erik ten Hag and Massimiliano Allegri are among the six names on Chelsea's managerial shortlist to replace Maurizio Sarri, according to the Express.

The Red Devils had a £40m offer knocked back with Crystal Palace demanding at least £60m

Manchester United are preparing a second bid for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to Sky Sports.

United had a £40 million ($51m) bid knocked back for the defender over the weekend but are ready to come back with an improved bid.

Palace are holding out for £60m for the England U-21 international, who enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2018-19.
