    Raith Rovers have defended their decision to sign forward David Goodwillie, after his arrival sparked a furious backlash at the Scottish club.

    Goodwillie, 32, was ruled to have committed rape by a civil court judge in 2017 and ordered, along with a team-mate, to pay £100,000 in damages.

    Rovers' signing of the player has prompted heavy criticism, as well as the resignation of the club's women's captain.

    Arsenal confirm Aubameyang exit

    Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been released on a free transfer by Arsenal ahead of his expected move to Barcelona, the Gunners confirmed on Tuesday.

    Arsenal and Barcelona had been locked in talks over a potential loan deal for the 32-year-old over the weekend, only for them to break down on Monday afternoon.

    But in a dramatic turn of events, Aubameyang looks set for a switch to Camp Nou after all, after ending his link with the Emirates Stadium by mutual consent.

    Dembele rejects Barca's contract termination offer (Marca)

    Ousmane Dembele turned down the offer from Barcelona to end his contract early, reports Marca.

    The Frenchman prefers to let his deal run down until the end of the season, despite Barca's eagerness to either sell or release him in the January transfer window.

    Higuain hints at extending Inter Miami stay

    Gonzalo Higuain has hinted he is eager to extend his stay at Inter Miami beyond the end of their 2022 campaign.

    The former Real Madrid and Juventus striker has been linked with a return to River Plate, where he initially began his career in 2005.

    However, Higuain insists he is quite content in MLS, telling TyC Sports: "Here [in Miami] I live calmly. I achieved the emotional stability I wanted, and the truth is that I feel very happy, fulfilled.

    "It is a city that brought me what I had been looking for all these years, tranquillity.

    "There is a lot of respect. All this peace of mind that I have now I do not change for anything in the world."

    Barca suggest Dembele has already agreed free transfer

    Ousmane Dembele saw the January transfer window close without signing a new contract at Barcelona or sealing a move elsewhere, and club president Joan Laporta believes the Frenchman has a free transfer agreement lined up.

    He has said of a World Cup winner: "We think he has an agreement with another club. That's what his agent has insinuated to us. We will act for the good of the club.”

    Barca could reignite their interest in Kurzawa in the summer, however, West Ham are also thought to be plotting a swoop for the Frenchman.
