Toluca have signed former Real Salt Lake star Joao Plata, the club announced.

Plata heads to Mexico after nine seasons in MLS, seven of which came with RSL to go with two with Toronto FC.

The 28-year-old attacker has earned five caps for Ecuador.


Milan monitoring Gonzalez


AC Milan are targeting Stuttgart's Nicholas Gonzalez, reports Calcio Mercato.

The Argentine has fired 14 goals and three assists in the 2. Bundesliga this season.

Barca cleared of fraud in Neymar deal


Barcelona have been cleared of fraud by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, with the court ruling the club did not violate any rules when signing Neymar from Santos.

Santos had appealed to CAS claiming they were owed over €61m (£55m/$69m) in compensation.

Juve consider €26m Mandragora purchase


Juventus could sign Rolando Mandragora back from Udinese this summer for €26 million (£23m/$29m).

Sky Sport reports the Serie A champions have an option to buy the defensive midfielder back from Udinese, who signed him from the Bianconeri in 2018.

But Juve will have to act soon if they want to get him back, as the clause expires at the end of August.

Olympiacos have completed the €400,000 signing of Ogmundur Kristinsson from Greek rivals Larisa.

The goalkeeper made 64 appearances for AEL in all competitions after joining from Dutch outfit Excelsior in August 2018 and has convinced the Greek giants to snap him up.

Barcelona have contacted Tottenham about a possible deal for Tanguy Ndombele and Ryan Sessegnon.

Lille have made a bid to sign Canadian international Jonathan David, reports L'Equipe.

The club is also eyeing Fluminense's Marcos Paulo, but negotiations with Genk's David are the more advanced.

Manchester City are discussing another loan deal with RB Leipzig when it comes to Angelino.

The Daily Mail reports that the Bundesliga outfit are unable to trigger a £25 million ($31m) purchase option, leading them to enter into talks regarding a season-long agreement.

‘Thiago wouldn’t walk into Liverpool’s starting XI’


Thiago Alcantara would be a welcome addition to a Premier League title-winning squad at Liverpool, says Steve Nicol, but the Spaniard has been warned he will not “walk into” the team at Anfield.

Nicol has told ESPN FC: "If they do sign him, I don’t think he walks into the team. I don’t think he is in the starting eleven."

Abraham sets new Chelsea contract demands


Tammy Abraham is demanding £130,000 per week to sign a new contract at Chelsea - according to Metro Sport.

The 22-year-old is currently earning £50,000 a week at Stamford Bridge, but wants his wage packet to be brought up to the same level as fellow England international Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Abraham only has two years left to run on his existing deal, but is worried about committing his future to the club after the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Barcelona 'unlikely' to sign Neymar


Neymar's proposed return to Barcelona has essentially been ruled out by club president Josep Bartomeu, who says the transfer market will be negatively impacted by the coronavirus crisis.

The Brazil international became the world's most expensive player when he swapped Barca for PSG in a €222 million (£201m/$250m) deal, but has since struggled to live up to that hefty price tag.

Injuries and off-field issues have overshadowed Neymar's time in the French capital, and he admitted last year that he would like to go back to Camp Nou to rediscover his love for the game.

Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo is the subject of interest from Barcelona - according to Record.

The Portuguese outfit are eager for the 20-year-old to come in and fill a centre-back role at Estadio da Luz next season.

Pellegrini set to be named Betis head coach


Manuel Pellegrini is set to be appointed Real Betis' new permanent manager - according to La Tercera.

The 66-year-old will sign a two-year deal with the option of an extra year at Benito Villamarin Stadium in the coming days.

Pellegrini has been out of work since being sacked by West Ham in December.

Wolves winger in high demand ahead of summer transfer window

Manchester City and Juventus have emerged as the frontrunners in the race to sign Wolves winger Adama Traore - according to ESPN.

Both clubs are prepared to move for the 24-year-old if Nuno Espirito Santo's side miss out on Champions League qualification.

Barcelona had also been linked with a former academy prospect, but they are unlikely to launch a formal bid this summer.

Barca won't activate Lautaro's €111m release clause


Barcelona have no intention of activating the €111 million (£100m/$125m) release clause in Lautaro Martinez’s contract at Inter, but the Liga giants are still keen to thrash out a deal for the Argentine.

Those at San Siro have made any suitors of their South American forward aware that one window of opportunity will swing shut at the close of play on Tuesday.

For them, that is when the current release terms in Lautaro’s contract will expire.

Lille target David to replace Osimhen


Gent striker Jonathan David is the subject of interest from Lille - according to HLN.

The French club are looking to bring in a replacement for Victor Osimhen, who is expected to join Napoli in the coming days.

David is top of Lille's list of targets, but they will have to come up with a fee of €30 million (£27m/$34m) to prise him away from Gent.

Local rivals set for bidding war

Manchester United and Manchester City are ready to go toe-to-toe in the transfer window for Milan Skriniar and Kalidou Koulibaly - according to The Independent.

City are unlikely to get Skriniar unless they offer Sergio Aguero to Inter as part of any deal, and have now identified Napoli centre-back Koulibaly as their priority target.

United, meanwhile, have long been interested in both players, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to dip back into the market for a defensive partner for Harry Maguire this summer.

Jimenez told to join Man Utd


Wolves star Raul Jimenez has been told to join Manchester United over Juventus as rumours swirl around the Mexican international's future.

Speaking to ESPN, Mexico manager Gerardo Martino says he believes the Red Devils are a better fit over Juve for the 29-year-old striker.

Jimenez has scored 24 goals in all competitions for Wolves this season, including 15 in the Premier League.

O'Neill to join City after Brisbane fail to secure deal


Australia under-23 international Aiden O'Neill is close to joining Melbourne City after Brisbane Roar failed to agree a deal with Premier League club Burnley.

The World Game reports O'Neil's contract with the Clarets expired last month but had been automatically extended with the English club hoping to recoup a fee for the midfielder.

Australian talent Daniel Arzani is set to complete a loan move to Dutch Eredivisie side FC Utrecht.

The 21-year-old was signed by Manchester City in 2018 and loaned out to Celtic but a series of knee injuries has slowed his progress.

According to Dutch publication FCUtrecht.Net, Arzani will join the Netherlands club once his work permit is approved.

Inter chief executive Giuseppe Marotta said Lautaro Martinez "must find peace of mind" amid strong links to La Liga champions Barcelona.

Lautaro - who moved to Milan from Racing Club in 2018 - has been tipped to swap Serie A side Inter for Barca at the end of the 2019-20 coronavirus-hit season.

The Argentina forward had scored 16 goals prior to the campaign being halted in March due to the Covid-19 pandemic but he has only netted once in six games since the restart, missing a penalty in Sunday's 2-1 loss to Bologna.

Hungary head coach Marco Rossi believes Salzburg star Dominik Szoboszlai is the "ideal player" for Serie A side Napoli.

Szoboszlai is a player in demand and tipped to leave Salzburg following his exploits for the Austrian champions – the Hungary international linked to Napoli, Milan, InterLazio and Premier League outfit Arsenal.
