Minnesota restructure sporting department


MLS side Minnesota United have announced a restructure of their sporting department.

Current Sporting Director Manny Lagos will take on a new role as Chief Soccer Officer, but will continue to oversee the sporting department.

Additionally, Head Trainer Stacey Hardin will now become the Senior Director of Player Health and Performance.

Manchester United tie down teen sensation Levitt


Manchester United have confirmed that they have tied 18-year-old Dylan Levitt down to a contract that runs until 2022.

The deal includes an option to extend for a further year as the Red Devils look to keep hold of one of their academy's brightest prospects.

The highly-rated teenager has already been included in Wales' senior squad three times.

NYCFC part ways with Torrent


New York City FC have parted ways with head coach Domenec Torrent.

Torrent replaced former Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira in 2018 and took City to third in the Eastern Conference that year, before finishing top this year and qualifying for the Concacaf Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Torrent is taking a number of backroom staff with him as he searches for a new challenge.

Villa chase striker amid Morelos rumours


Aston Villa manager Dean Smith was asked about reports linking his side with Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos.

"I certainly saw his goal last night, it was a very good finish," said Smith.

"He's a player who is contracted to another football club and we aren't a club that talks about them."

Smith admitted his side will look to sign a striker, though, as Keinan Davis is out with a hamstring injury.

"Granit Xhaka?"


Newcastle manager Steve Bruce was asked about the possibility of signing Arsenal's Granit Xhaka in January.

The Gunners captain could leave the club after his relationship with the fans soured and he was stripped of the captaincy.

Bruce refused to be drawn on the situation but acknowledged the player's quality.

"Granit Xhaka? Look, I was only in the job two weeks and I was linked with 42 players. So I am not going to comment on anybody else's players.

"He is a very good player."

Rivera joins Revolution


Damian Rivera has signed a Homegrown Player contract with New England Revolution. He will join up with the first team ahead of the 2020 MLS season.

Rivera turns 17 next month and will be the youngest player in the senior squad.

Southampton coach leaves for US


Southampton's U23 coach Radhi Jaidi will take over as head coach of USL Championship side Hartford Athletic.

The Tunisian former centre-back ended his playing career with Southampton in 2012, before joining their backroom staff. He has been coaching the club's U23s since 2017.

Cannon gunning for Premier League


United States right-back Reggie Cannon is wanted by two clubs in England, according to The Athletic.

His current club, FC Dallas, will try to get him to sign a new deal, but there is interest from a Premier League side as well as another club currently in the Championship.

FC Dallas is unlikely to be able to match the salaries on offer in England.

Scholes suggests Man Utd should replace Lindelof


Former Manchester United midifielder Paul Scholes feels another centre-half may be required to partner Harry Maguire, according to BT Sport.

A record-breaking £80 million ($98m) was invested in Harry Maguire over the summer, with the England international now the most expensive defender on the planet.

He is considered to be a useful addition for the present and future at Old Trafford, but further reinforcements will be required in order to get United back to where they believe they belong.

Forest Green extend Thomas' contract


Goalkeeper Lewis Thomas has extended his contract with Forest Green, the club have announced.

The 22-year-old Welshman's terms now run until the end of next season.

Thomas has impressed for the League Two leaders so far, keeping seven clean sheets in his 11 appearances in England's fourth tier so far.

PSG not ruling out new Neymar deal?


Paris Saint-Germain have not ruled out the possibility of offering Neymar a new deal in a bid to keep the Brazilian forward in France, according to L'Equipe.

A one-year extension to Neymar's current contract - which expires in 2022 - was discussed last season, but the fans' mood towards the former Barcelona star soured when he pushed for a move back to Spain in the summer.

SInce then, no new talks have taken place, although the possibility of an extension has not been completely discounted.

Barcelona interested in Aubameyang


Barcelona are reportedly interested in Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to El Chiringuito.

The Gabon forward's contract expires at the end of next season and the La Liga giants are considering a January move for the Gunners captain.

Aubameyang has scored 50 goals in just 78 games for Arsenal across all competitions.

Juventus rekindle interest in Rakitic


Barca star wanted by Serie A giants

Ivan Rakitic is back on the transfer radar of Serie A champions Juventus, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Croatia international midfielder is edging towards the exits at Barcelona and it could be a switch to Italy which has been mooted for some time is finally completed in 2020.

Bowen ignoring transfer talk at Hull


Jarrod Bowen has the offer of a new contract on the table at Hull City and is ignoring the transfer talk which continues to rage around him, with Newcastle the latest side to be linked with an approach.

He has told the Hull Daily Mail: “There was obviously talk and a lot of talks but no official bids. have people off the pitch who deal with that and I just try and turn that negative into a positive.

“There’ll always be talk but every player has a price, especially in this market being English, the price goes up mad. But I won’t let little things like that affect me. I’ll just keep working on the pitch and until anything changes is when I’ll start to listen to it a bit more.”

Celtic to loan out Perez again


Celtic are planning to send United States U20 international Manny Perez back out on loan when he returns to the club, claims Football Insider.

Signed by the Hoops in January, the promising winger immediately linked up with North Carolina on a year-long agreement.

Vidal price too high for Inter


Inter will not meet Barcelona's asking price for Arturo Vidal, reports Calciomercato.

The former Juventus midfielder has long been linked with a switch to San Siro, but those at Camp Nou are demanding too much ahead of the January window.

Newcastle consider Xhaka approach


Newcastle are weighing up a January swoop for Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka - according to The Times.

The Swiss midfielder is expected to leave Emirates Stadium when the transfer window reopens, with the Magpies ready to pounce.

Unai Emery stripped Xhaka of the Arsenal captaincy after his angry reaction to fan abuse in a 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace on October 27.

Bale transfer talk leaves Kroos in the dark


Toni Kroos claims to be in the dark when it comes to Gareth Bale’s future at Real Madrid but has questioned why the Welshman is available for his country after nursing a knock at club level.

Bale has not figured for the Blancos since October 5, but has been named in Ryan Giggs’ latest squad for Euro 2020 qualifying.

A prominent figure in the Wales set-up is happy to report for duty with his fellow countrymen, despite having picked up an untimely injury during the last international break.

Soares set to leave Southampton next summer


Southampton defender Cedric Soares says he will leave the club at the end of the season.

The 28-year-old, who will become a free agent next summer, wants to help the Saints avoid relegation before he walks through the exit door.

Soares told The Telegraph: "I will leave Southampton after this season, but I am focussed on saving them first."

Suarez advises Alena he may need to leave Barca


Carles Alena should not settle for a bit-part role at Barcelona and should consider opportunities to pursue his career elsewhere, according to Denis Suarez. 

Alena, 21, has been sparsely used at Camp Nou this season despite a spate of injuries which have disrupted the Catalans early in 2019-20. 

The midfielder has made one solitary appearance in La Liga and now appears surplus to requirements at Barca, despite coach Ernesto Valverde's assertions that the youngster "deserves to play more".

Out-of-favour Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud is the subject of interest from Inter Milan - according to Le Figaro.

Giroud has grown frustrated with a lack of minutes under Frank Lampard at Chelsea this season and Inter are poised to swoop for his signature when the market reopens.

Chelsea 'keeper Caballero open to La Liga switch


Chelsea goalkeeper Willy Caballero would welcome a return to Spain next summer if he is not offered a new contract at Stamford Bridge - as The Sun reports.

The 38-year-old is due to become a free agent at the end of the current season and has only featured in six matches across all competitions since August.

Caballero opened up on his future in an interview with AS, stating: "I end the contract at the end of the season and we’ll see what happens in the future.

"I would like to return to Spain."

Arsenal ready £22m bid for Frankfurt ace Hinteregger


Arsenal are prepared to launch a £22 million ($28m) transfer bid for Eintracht Frankfurt defender Martin Hinteregger - according to The Sun

The Gunners want to bring in the Austria international in January but may face competition for his signature from Premier League rivals West Ham.

Hinteregger has scored three goals in nine Bundesliga appearances for Frankfurt this season.

AC Milan are interested in signing Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic - according to Calcio Mercato.

However, the Spanish champions will only sanction a deal if the Rossoneri agree in advance to sign the Croatian permanently at the end of any possible loan spell.

Rakitic has fallen down the pecking order at Barca this season, with only one start to his name in La Liga.

Suarez wants MLS move, claims Lodeiro


Seattle Sounders attacker Nico Lodeiro has claimed Barcelona star Luis Suarez wants to play in MLS and a move to the competition is "only a matter of time". 

Lodeiro and Suarez are good friends having lined up for Uruguay together, with the former set to compete in the MLS Cup final on Sunday against Toronto FC

While Lodeiro is fully focused on the decider, he's quickly turned heads by declaring Suarez will sooner or later play in MLS.

Deschamps: Griezmann needs time to shine at Barca


Antoine Griezmann will go on to enjoy a successful Barcelona career, Didier Deschamps believes, adding he has no concerns over the forward's form.

Griezmann left Atletico Madrid for Barca over the summer, but he has failed to find his best form so far at Camp Nou.

However, Deschamps has no concerns over Griezmann, claiming he simply needs more time to adapt to life at his new club.

Kerr excited to lock in European move


Matildas star Sam Kerr has confirmed she's close to signing for a European club. 

The Australian striker has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Real Madrid, but revealed she's yet to make a final decision. 

"There is still a little bit to go through but it’s an exciting time for me," Kerr said on Friday. 

"It’s going to be a new challenge, a new experience but I think it will only better me as a footballer. I am really looking forward to finally being able to share it with everyone because it has been a long process for me. It has been a few years in the making this decision.

Lucas Torreira is scheduled for talks with Arsenal coach Unai Emery as he looks to settle his future, Tuttomercatoweb reports.

The midfielder is not happy at the Gunners and is open to leaving in January, with a return to Italy the most likely destination.

First, however, he will meet with the Arsenal boss to clarify his status at the club.

Liverpool wanted Rodrygo before Real Madrid, reveals former coach


Brazilian teenager Rodrygo made Champions League history with Real Madrid on Wednesday, but one of his former coaches has revealed he could have been doing so for Liverpool instead. 

The 18-year-old moved to the Santiago Bernabeu over the summer from Santos in a deal worth around €45 million (£39m/$49m). 

While a tidy sum for a young player yet to be tested in Europe, the fee now looks a bargain after Rodrygo scored a hat-trick against Galatasaray, with his first-half brace inside 14 minutes the quickest in the competition's history.

Boban steps up Milan pursuit of Rakitic


Milan sporting director Zvonimir Boban is working around the clock to secure the signing of compatriot Ivan Rakitic, reports Sport Mediaset (via Mundo Deportivo). 

Rakitic has seen his first-team appearances diminish this season as Frenkie de Jong has added further competition to the midfield.

Having missed out on the Santos wonderkid in 2013, Florentino Perez was determined never to be upstaged by Madrid's Clasico arch-rivals. 

That led Madrid to pay out a combined €85 million (£73m/$94m) to Flamengo and Santos for Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo in successive seasons, sums that Barca were not prepared to match.

Both youngsters' agents also received huge bonuses for signing with Madrid, in Rodrygo's case having already struck a verbal agreement with Barca in 2017.

MLS Commissioner Don Garber has confirmed AC Milan are trying to sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from LA Galaxy.

The Swedish striker has been linked with a return to Europe as his contract with the American side will expire at the end of the year.

Ibrahimovic has been in incredible form for the Galaxy, scoring 31 goals in as many games in all competitions as he captained them to the MLS Cup playoffs.
