Partey agents apologise for 'next club' Instagram post


The agency representing Atletico Madrid's Thomas Partey has apologised for an Instagram post which suggested potential next clubs for the midfielder.

The post, using a graphic from Transfermarkt, read "pick his next club" with the options given as Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Manchester United and PSG.

The company said an internal investigation was being carried out, with a statement reading: "Concerning the publication that was made today, Wednesday, April 29, 2020, on our Instagram account, regarding the future of our player Thomas Partey, from J.J. Sport Managers we want to convey that this publication was not approved by the management of the company."

The Turkey international's Barcelona contract expires in June, while he rescinded his loan deal with Basaksehir at the start of 2020.

Man Utd will have 'mouthwatering' attack if they sign Sancho and keep Pogba - Ferdinand


Manchester United will have a "mouthwatering" attack if they sign Jadon Sancho and keep hold of Paul Pogba this summer, according to Rio Ferdinand.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been tipped to add a highly-rated Borussia Dortmund talisman to his ranks when the transfer market reopens.

Sancho has emerged as one of the finest young talents of his generation since swapping Manchester City for Westfalenstadion in 2017, and United have been strongly linked with a move for the 20-year-old over the last few months.

Simon Mignolet claims to have no regrets at having left Liverpool for Club Brugge in 2019, only to then see Alisson endure injury issues at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp’s side surge to the top of the Premier League table.

Mihajlovic demands payment from Sporting


Former Sporting Lisbon manager Sinisa Mihajlovic says the club hasn't paid him the full €3 million compensation for unfair dismissal after he was removed in June 2018.

A statement from Mihajlovic said: “Sporting Lisbon as of today have not paid me the money that is owed. Since the start of the year, since the club first recognised this debt, they have done nothing but try to delay payment.

“This behaviour is unacceptable and if forced I will go back to UEFA to receive the full sum. I’ll go all the way, even if it means excluding Sporting from UEFA competitions.”

Atletico Madrid want to sign Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu from Real Valladolid, report Marca.

It is claimed the 21-year-old's release clause stands at only €12 million (£10m/$13m).

Atletico could reduce the fee even further by sending Salisu back to Valladolid for a year on loan.

Man Utd ward off Arsenal interest for Forson


Highly-rated Manchester United midfielder Omari Forson is set to ignore interest from Arsenal to sign a new deal at Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The 15-year-old is rated among the country's brightest talents in his age group.

United brought Forson in from Tottenham last year, and he has played for the club's under-16 and under-18 teams.

'Only Mbappe is worth more than Sancho'


Only Kylian Mbappe is currently worth more than Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho, according to former Liverpool man Dietmar Hamann.

Inter want Moses' asking price to be dropped


Inter are keen on taking Victor Moses on a permanent basis, but Calciomercato claims they are looking for Chelsea to drop their asking price.

The Blues are said to be demanding €12 million (£10m/$13m) for the Nigerian, who is currently on loan at San Siro.

Paul Parker is not convinced that Manchester United should be looking at investing £100 million ($125m) in Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

Barcelona winger Ansu Fati is the subject of interest from Borussia Dortmund - according to SPORT.

The Bundesliga giants have already been in contact with the La Liga champions, who may be prepared to sanction the 17-year-old's departure on loan.

Fati has scored five goals in 24 appearances for Barca this term, and is under contract at Camp Nou until 2022.

Man Utd should spend big on Maddison, says Parker


James Maddison should be favoured over Jack Grealish if Manchester United are looking to spend “big, big money” in the next window, says Paul Parker, with the Leicester playmaker considered to be more of a guarantee for success than a “big fish in a small pond” at Aston Villa.

The Red Devils are said to still be in the market for added creativity, despite landing Bruno Fernandes in January and waiting on a return to form and fitness from Paul Pogba.

Inter in contact with Mertens


Inter CEO Giuseppe Marotta has been in regular contact with Napoli forward Dries Mertens ahead of a possible summer transfer - according to Calcio Mercato.

Chelsea have also been linked with the Belgian, but the Nerazzurri are now well placed to win the race for his signature.

Messi backed to renew Barca contract


Lionel Messi will "have no trouble" signing a contract extension at Barcelona, according to the club's former president Joan Laporta.

Messi's future at Camp Nou has been a talking point amid turmoil at Barcelona, where the star is contracted until 2021.

The Argentina international can leave the La Liga giants for free at the end of any season, sparking even further speculation over his future.

But former Barca president Laporta, who is expected to run again next year, said it would be easy for Messi to re-sign.

Valencia winger Ferran Torres would fit in well at Liverpool, according to the Spanish club's former sporting director Fernando Gomez. 

At just 20, Torres is already turning heads across Europe and Gomez believes working under Jurgen Klopp could suit him best. 

"He can perform well in any team and in any league. In England too, of course, at Liverpool or any other team," Gomez told

"Klopp's system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands."

Pochettino hopeful of successful Spurs return


Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that he is dreaming of retracing his steps back to Tottenham one day, revealing that he hopes to return and win a trophy that eluded him during his time in charge.

Pochettino transformed Spurs into one of the top sides in England during his five years with the team, leading them to the brink of silverware but never getting over the final hurdle.

Tottenham once finished second and twice finished third in the Premier League under Pochettino's stewardship, and also reached the 2018-19 Champions League final in which the Lilywhites fell to current title holders Liverpool.

Emery hints at Spain return


Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery appears set on a return to coaching in Spain. 

The former Valencia and Sevilla boss is keen to return to management soon after being fired by the Gunners in November 2019. 

"I am open to coaching. In Spain, in England, in Italy, in France, elsewhere ... but if you ask me where I think I will be, I think I will be closer to the Spanish league," Emery told Eurosport's Confinados.

"After four years if I have a good chance to return to Spain and I feel like it, I want to face it."

Fernandinho open to Man City extension


Despite only re-signing in January until the end of next season, Fernandinho is open to discussing a further contract extension with Manchester City. 

"First of all, I just want to get back to work and play again. I extended my contract a couple of months ago and I am so happy, but after that, we'll see," the Brazilian told Sky Sports

"If we have another conversation about another contract in the future, I would be happy. But if not, I would be happy as well because I know what I have done for this club and what this club has done for me, how they have helped me. This time has been a pleasure for me.

Manchester United have attempted to sweeten their bid for Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho by offering him their No. 7 shirt, reports the Mirror

The Red Devils have set the iconic number aside for the 20-year-old, with previous wearers including Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham and George Best.

Dortmund remain desperate to keep their attacker however, with Chelsea also circling for his services. 

Pape Gueye’s Watford move not a done deal


The agent of new Watford signing Pape Gueye has insisted his transfer to the Premier League club from Le Havre hasn't been finalised. 

Speaking to The Athletic, Pierre-Henri Bovis declared they are still working through contractual issues, despite Watford announcing the deal on Wednesday

"Nothing is fixed. Now we are trying to resolve possible issues," Bovis said. "The circumstances are very strange. The communication of Watford doesn't change anything for us." 

Werner eyes Liverpool move as he rules out Bayern switch


The German attacker has a clear preference

RB Leipzig star Timo Werner won't join Bayern Munich or any other German club next season, according to Bild.

The 24-year-old striker has instead set his sights on a move to Liverpool, where he's keen to link up with manager Jurgen Klopp. 

The Reds have previously been linked with interest in Werner but it's unclear whether they'll be able to make a move this summer in the wake of the coronavirus.

Man Utd aim to be 'highly competitive' in transfer window


Ed Woodward has reiterated Manchester United’s commitment to backing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s rebuild as they aim to be “highly competitive” in the transfer market.

Solskjaer’s position at the club has come under scrutiny since he was given the job on a permanent basis 13 months ago. 

Mixed results led for calls from some for the Norwegian to be sacked. However, the message from the board has always been that the treble winner would be given the time and resources needed to complete the rebuild he has started.
