Bayern Munich have sent Sacha Boey another clear signal that he has no future at the club, with Vincent Kompany leaving the French defender out of his squad for the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund.
The Bavarians edged that clash 2-1 at Dortmund's stadium, but Boey's absence spoke volumes about where he stands.
Sporting director Max Eberl confirmed the exclusion was no passing tactical call. The club have no plans to use Boey this season, he explained, which is why others got the nod for the match.
At 25, Boey had already been told, alongside Joao Palhinha and Bryan Zaragoza, that he does not feature in Kompany's plans despite his deal running until 2028.
Pre-season told a different story. Boey got minutes in the friendlies and impressed in several of them, only for everything to shift once the competitive games began, according to German newspaper "Bild".

The club want him gone this summer and are pushing him to find a new home, particularly now that his first-team chances look slim to none.
Eberl only ratcheted up the pressure when he made plain that staying in Munich would be "difficult and very complicated" for anyone frozen out of the picture.
Dropping Boey for the Dortmund tie carried an extra sting, too. Bayern handed a squad place to 17-year-old Maiko Cardoso ahead of him.
Talks over his exit have gone nowhere decisive with the window closing fast. Reports value the defender at around 10 million euros.
His future in Bavaria looks murkier by the day. Bayern refuse to count on him and want the matter settled before the market shuts.
