Al-Nassr's Brazilian midfielder Angelo has heaped praise on his former Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, crediting him with changing his life and everything in his career.
Al-Nassr thrashed hosts Al-Riyadh 4-0 on Friday at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Stadium in the Saudi capital, in the second round of the Roshn League.
Angelo was the star of the show. He teed up the opener for Saudi defender Abdulelah Al-Amri, then netted the second himself.
Speaking to "Thmanyah" channels after the final whistle, Angelo said: "First and foremost, I would like to say praise be to God for everything, but I believe this result is the result of the entire group."
"I am very proud of our group, because we gave our all on the pitch, applied our style and our organisation on the pitch, and this is the source of our strength, and this is why we are champions, and this is what matters," he added.
"Let us keep moving forward, because we are still at the beginning, so I am happy, and proud of the team, and what matters is that we keep moving forward," he continued.
He concluded: "(Jorge) Jesus changed my position, and I am very grateful to him, because he changed my life, and changed everything in my career, so I am very grateful to him, and now I can show my potential to a greater extent, I will carry on in this way, and I am very happy, and I feel comfortable."
Jesus was the first to shift Angelo from the right wing into midfield, during his spell as Al-Nassr head coach last season. That switch helped the Brazilian flourish.
