Vinicius Junior has dropped a hint over his Real Madrid future amid the ongoing controversy surrounding it and speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal this summer.
Now training under José Mourinho, the Brazilian has made his first comments on the club's new project under the Portuguese coach.
His future remains uncertain. His contract expires next summer and is yet to be renewed, but the matter isn't occupying his thoughts for now, even as he waits on a meeting with Real Madrid to thrash out an agreement.
Speaking on Real Madrid's television channel, Vinicius said: "Things went well. I got to know the new coach and the new players, and I trained hard. Mourinho wants me to be as I always have been: happy, joyful, and playing football in my own style."
He then hinted at his intention to keep wearing the white shirt: "We need to prepare ourselves physically so that injuries are reduced during the season and we can rely on everyone."
On the training itself, the Brazilian added: "A double training session yesterday, and one session today. That's how things go. Today we did some exercises in the gym and short exercises to strengthen our leg muscles. It was a good training session, and we all left completely exhausted, but now it is time to rest in preparation for tomorrow. That's what the pre-season period is like, and we have to be ready."
