Eriksen & Son happy at Tottenham amid contract rumours

Christian Eriksen and Heung-Min Son have emphasised how happy they are at Tottenham amid talk that they could each be offered new contracts.

Son and Eriksen sparkled as Spurs thrashed Everton 4-0 at Wembley on Saturday, the South Korean scoring once and assisting another, while the Dane wrapped up the victory with a fantastic strike in the final 10 minutes.

Son's goal marked his fifth in a row at home - he is only the second Spurs player to achieve such a feat, after Jermain Defoe in 2004 - and he confirmed afterwards that he is content in London, though he is in the dark over reports of a new deal.

"I haven't heard any special comments about that," he told reporters. "Although I'm having a great time here, I don't believe that is what I can talk about at this moment.

"I'm learning a lot at Tottenham, so I'd like to focus on Tottenham and my performances for now."

Eriksen, meanwhile, has enjoyed a productive season under Mauricio Pochettino, scoring seven goals and providing eight assists in 28 appearances in all competitions.

"I am happy to be at the club and have nothing negative to say about it [Tottenham] at all," he said.

“Everyone is really very pleased with the win and how we played was very good so it’s on to the next game. I think it gives us a lot of confidence to play like we did.”

While Son was awarded Man of the Match for his performance against Everton, Harry Kane's brace saw him become Spurs' all-time top Premier League goalscorer, and Eriksen lauded the England international after the encounter.

“Sonny is flying and so is Harry," he added. "It’s enjoyable to watch and enjoyable to be in the same team with them.

"Congratulations to Harry for breaking the record for Spurs. It’s always a big achievement and to do it in so few games as he’s done is fantastic and of course Sonny with how he plays, it’s a big thing to play in the team with them both.”
