Trabzonspor have revealed new details regarding their negotiations with the Egyptian star Mohamed Salah, confirming that the player will arrive in Turkey at noon tomorrow, Wednesday, in preparation for completing the procedures of his move to the club.
The Turkish club said, in an official statement addressed to its fans: "Mohamed Salah, with whom we have begun transfer negotiations, will be present at Istanbul Ataturk Airport, the General Aviation Terminal, at exactly 12:00 noon on Wednesday 5 August."
Salah is then scheduled to head to the city of Trabzon that same evening, with the club promising to reveal details of the official reception programme within hours through its own media channels.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, Trabzonspor had announced the start of their official negotiations to sign the captain of the Egyptian national team. Their brief statement read: "Negotiations have begun regarding the transfer of Mohamed Salah to our club."
Before that announcement, the club's official account teased the move with a video clip of the three pyramids in Egypt, a clear nod to the imminent signing. Developments then accelerated over the following hours.
According to Turkish press reports, Trabzonspor have reached a preliminary agreement with Salah and his agent Ramy Abbas over a two-year contract, pending the final procedures and an official announcement.
The move comes with Salah, now 34, having been linked to a string of clubs since he ended his spell with Liverpool at the close of last season.
Besiktas were among those who showed interest before talks stalled, and Salah also drew offers from a host of Saudi clubs, most notably Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal, Al-Nassr, Al-Ahli and Al-Qadsiah.
