Ajax will be without several players for Thursday's Conference League trip to FC Midtjylland. Coach Míchel Sánchez must find a strong line-up despite the absences. Kick-off in Denmark is at 18:45, with live coverage on Ziggo Sport Select.
Wednesday's team news listed Sofyan Amrabat, Julian Brandt, Viktor Tsygankov and Anton Gaaei among Ajax's absentees for Thursday. Simon Adingra, Kasper Dolberg and Yves Bissouma are also unavailable. Steven Berghuis and Daley Blind are fit again, but Berghuis isn't ready to start.
Marc ter Stegen is set to start in goal at the MCH Arena. Lucas Rosa will play at right-back and Owen Wijndal at left-back. Aaron Bouwman and Youri Baas will form the heart of Ajax's defence against Midtjylland.
With so many players out, Míchel faces a midfield puzzle. The Spanish coach has already said he is seriously considering Daley Blind at No 6. Captain Davy Klaassen and Jorthy Mokio look certain to start.
Oscar Gloukh, whom Míchel often plays on the left wing, will fill in on the right. Berghuis isn't fit enough to start yet but will be on the bench. Tolu Arokodare will lead the line for the visitors from Amsterdam, with Abdellah Ouazane on the left.
Against AZ, Ajax enjoyed a good dress rehearsal for Thursday with a 1-0 win. Midtjylland beat FC Nordsjælland 2-3 in a spectacular encounter and sit two points clear of nearest challengers FC Kopenhagen at the top of the Superligaen.
Ajax's probable line-up: Ter Stegen; Rosa, Bouwman, Baas, Wijndal; Blind, Mokio, Klaassen; Gloukh, Tolu, Ouazane.
