Ajax are not, for the time being, getting any cooperation in their attempt to sign São Paulo left winger Tetê on loan, ESPN report. The Brazilian club do not appear willing to cooperate in a loan deal.
Brazilian journalist André Hernan reported on Friday that Ajax had submitted a bid to sign the 19-year-old forward on loan. The Amsterdam club are said to be considering a loan deal with certain conditions attached.
UOL revealed that the agreement contains a mandatory purchase clause. “If Tetê plays a certain number of matches during the loan period, Ajax must buy the rights to the striker for €10 million.”
São Paulo do not appear willing to agree to that for now. The Brazilian club would prefer to sell the winger immediately and are therefore not keen on a loan arrangement.
Tetê has so far played only 122 minutes in professional football across six matches. He has split his time between São Paulo’s first team and reserves.
Still, the attacker is listed, 'despite his limited playing time', 'as one of São Paulo’s most promising talents'. The left-sided forward is also a Brazil Under-20 youth international.
Ajax are looking for a new left winger after the departure of Mika Godts. They also hope to strengthen further with a right winger.
