Crystal Palace are looking to strengthen their squad before the summer transfer window closes, after Pierre Sage's start with the club proved disappointing, following the 2-0 defeat to Everton in the opening round of the Premier League.
Behind the scenes, the English club's management are working to reinforce midfield and central defence. The need to add new faces is clear, especially after the worrying display of Moroccan defender Chadi Riad against Everton.
According to "Foot Mercato", Crystal Palace have made Moroccan midfielder Neil El Aynaoui, who plays for Italy's Roma, and his compatriot Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal, the Stade Rennais defender, two of their leading targets in the final days of the window.
Both players are open to a move. El Aynaoui and Ait Boudlal are keen to take on a new experience in the Premier League and join the London club's project.
The French website did not reveal the value of the offers Crystal Palace may table to Roma and Rennes, and the nature of the talks between the parties remains unclear. The English club, though, have the financial muscle to complete both deals.
Palace hope to settle their moves quickly, strengthening the squad before the window shuts and handing coach Pierre Sage extra options in midfield and defence.
