    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Earlier this week, Arsenal were urged by ex-midfielder Anders Limpar to poach "God" Ibrahimovic as the replacement for former chief Edu Gaspar, who left the Emirates in November 2024.

"When it comes to Zlatan Ibrahimovic, he is a God," said Limpar. "I would love to see him replace Edu at Arsenal, it would be a dream come true. First of all, he is an absolute winner. He would never stop until he has won. I would be the first one to support him working behind the scenes at Arsenal, he could take them to the next level."

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Despite Ibrahimovic’s involvement in key first-team decisions, such as hiring Paulo Fonseca and Sergio Conceicao, his influence appears to be waning. He also interviewed sporting director candidates, but following discussions with RedBird’s Gerry Cardinale, the responsibility now falls entirely on Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani.

Sky Sport Italia reported that Milan’s internal structure will be reviewed in the coming weeks. Ibrahimovic’s recent absence from first-team affairs, partly due to illness, hints that his role could change for the 2025-26 season, further fuelling speculation regarding his future at San Siro.
