Xabi Alonso gives update on Endrick's future at Real Madrid amid continued exit talk after Gonzalo Garcia stars at Club World Cup

At just 21 years of age, Garcia has become one of the standout players in the ongoing Club World Cup. He has turned heads throughout the tournament with his outstanding performances, registering three goals and a key assist in just four appearances.

Garcia's rise comes at a time when Endrick is recovering from an injury. The Brazilian reportedly made the decision to travel to the United States independently. The purpose of the trip was to hold discussions with Madrid's senior officials about how he fits into the club’s vision, particularly given the emergence of Garcia and the injury setbacks that have limited his involvement.

During a press briefing, Alonso reassured: “I’m counting on all three of them. Endrick is recovering, but of course, we’re counting on him. We’re not planning the squad [for next year], just looking for immediate performance. We’ll make decisions later.”

Speaking about Garcia's impact, he added: "He’s doing very well, the desire he’s showing is what we expected… and we’re happy with him.”

Real Madrid are scheduled to face Borussia Dortmund on Saturday in the quarter-finals at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. A victory would secure their place in the semi-final round and move them one step closer to being crowned world champions.
