Wrexham line up ex-Liverpool record-setter in 'bargain deal' as Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney continue spending spree

The Red Dragons have made Championship and Premier League experience top priorities during their hunt for fresh faces in the summer transfer window of 2025. Those qualities have been found in the likes of Conor Coady, Danny Ward, Lewis O’Brien and Kieffer Moore - as Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney help to make more funds available.

There is the promise of business to come at SToK Racecourse before the next deadline passes. According to The Sun, Robinson is another name said to be registering on Wrexham’s recruitment radar.

The defender started out at Liverpool, becoming their youngest debutant when making his senior bow at 16 in 2010. Robinson has since spent time with Wolves, Blackpool, QPR, Huddersfield and Nottingham Forest, before making his way to Bramall Lane in 2020.

Robinson is club captain for the Blades, but is 31 years of age and open to a new challenge in North Wales. It is claimed that Wrexham are looking to do a “bargain deal” that would add more top-flight and second-tier pedigree to Phil Parkinson’s squad.

Sheffield United need to bring another defender in before agreeing to let Robinson go. Wrexham hope that process can be completed quickly, on the back of a dramatic 2-1 defeat at Southampton in their 2025-26 opener, with Robinson capable of operating at centre-half or left-back.
