  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Narrowing that choice down to just four names is no easy task, given how successful the Red Dragons have been on the back of a stunning Hollywood takeover in 2021. History has been made with three successive promotions.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reynolds and McElhenney have overseen that meteoric rise, but they have enjoyed plenty of assistance along the way - with every dramatic moment being caught on camera for the ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ documentary series.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Paul Mullin has earned legend status in North Wales, despite generating transfer talk at present, and Reynolds has found room for the 110-goal star on his Wrexham mountain, alongside record-breaking manager Phil Parkinson.

    WHAT RYAN REYNOLDS SAID

Club director Shaun Harvey, who has aided Reynolds and McElhenney since day one, is a somewhat surprising choice to complete the Mount Rushmore selection. Reynolds told the Men In Blazers podcast: “Phil Parkinson, Rob McElhenney, who does so much more than people realise. Paul Mullin and Shaun Harvey.

“Shaun really, from the jump, was very good about protecting us from ourselves, which you need sometimes, and really giving us as much information… the dumber the question, it just didn’t bother him. He was very, very patient.”

Reynolds added: “Those are my four, but four is not fair. Luke Young, that guy has the heart of a lion and his leadership… his leadership by example, not by words, is what I found to be beautiful.”

  • WHAT NEXT FOR WREXHAM?

Former Wrexham captain Young is among those to have moved on as the Red Dragons have stepped up the divisions, with it possible that Mullin will head the same way this summer as Parkinson pieces together a squad that can be competitive in the Championship.
