  • WHAT HAPPENED?

After being reduced to 10 men following an early red card to Arkadiusz Milik, Dusan Vlahovic fired home from close range to put the visitors in the lead. But Empoli soon found the equaliser and could have had the winner, if not for some heroic defending by Weah. After being brought on just before the hour mark in place of Fabio Miretti, the USMNT star put his body on the line with a perfectly timed sliding challenge to dispossess Cancellieri in a one-on-one situation with just a few minutes remaining on the clock.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Although Weah has struggled to nail down a starting berth under Massimiliano Allegri, he has been able to make a significant impact after coming off the bench. The winger created a massive chance in the 77th minute against Empoli after he drilled in a cross and added more intensity into the attack as Juventus kept pushing for the winner.
