  • WHAT BETH MEAD SAID:

Mead said: "We will keep going until they listen. There have been a lot of theses injuries recently. Why?"

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Initial football-focused research into ACL problems has shown that female players are six times more likely to suffer these types of injuries compared to men. Female players are also 25 per cent less likely to return after recovery, according to Sky Sports. It is hoped that further research can help understand why the injuries have become so prevalent in the women's game and help to reduce the amount of players being sidelined with such severe knee issues in the future.
