Video: Youssef En-Nesyri leads Al-Ittihad to a dramatic Asian win with a thunderous strike

Al-Ittihad refused to come away with a disappointing result from their clash against Uzbekistan's Neftchi Fergana, snatching a precious 2-1 win at the Istiqlol Stadium in the third round of the AFC Champions League Elite.

The night began in shocking fashion for the Dean. The hosts went ahead early through Jamshid Iskanderov in the 17th minute, the penalty awarded after a VAR review for a handball on Al-Ittihad forward Georges Elenikhina. Now the Saudi side needed to fight their way back.

Al-Ittihad refused to buckle after falling behind. They poured forward in search of an equaliser, and Algeria's Houssem Aouar duly obliged, powering home a fine header in the 34th minute to level the scores and breathe fresh life into the Dean before the break.

The second half opened up into a proper slugfest, both sides throwing everything at it to settle the contest. A draw looked the likeliest outcome as the clock wound down. Then Morocco's Youssef En-Nesyri popped up at the decisive moment.
