Steven Bergwijn rescued Al-Ittihad from the trap of Al-Hazm on Monday evening, driving "the Doyen" to a thrilling 3-2 win in the third round of the Roshn League. The match swung one way then the other right up until the final whistle.
Victory took Al-Ittihad to 7 points from three rounds, built on two wins and a draw. That leaves them temporarily top of the Roshn League, a single point clear of the chasing pack led by Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal.
