  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Victor Osimhen has spent the 2024-25 season on loan at Galatasaray, but the striker, contracted to Napoli, will be seeking a permanent move elsewhere this summer. According to a report from JuveFC (h/t Football Italia), the Nigerian international was approached by Juventus to join them ahead of the 2025-26 season, but he declined the offer in favour of a move to the Premier League.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Osimhen’s €75m release clause becomes active next summer, and during recent talks, Juventus outlined their vision and ambitions in an attempt to sway the 26-year-old. Despite expressing gratitude for their interest, Osimhen made it clear that his priority remains securing a move to one of Europe’s elite clubs, preferably in the Premier League.

The Bianconeri have been in search of a prolific number 9 for the summer, as they plan to move on from the underwhelming Dusan Vlahovic. While they signed Randal Kolo Muani on loan from PSG until the end of the season, their interest in Osimhen indicates that they will not be signing the Frenchman permanently.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Earlier this week, Catalan publication SPORT reported that Osimhen was offered to Barcelona, who are desperate to sign a successor to the ageing Robert Lewandowski. However, Barca believe that the player's wages and transfer fee are currently beyond their financial reach.
