Valencia issue Mouctar Diakhaby update after horrific injury against Real Madrid - which left players averting their eyes in horror

During Valencia's La Liga clash against Real Madrid on Sunday, the Guinean defender suffered a horrific injury. Tchouameni was trying to enter the Valencia penalty box when he lost his balance and fell on Diakhaby, with his whole weight bending Diakhaby's leg. The players appeared to be distraught as the Valencia star was stretchered off the pitch.

Now, the Spanish club have released an update on Diakhaby's condition via an official statement that read, "Mouctar Diakhaby has been diagnosed with a dislocated right knee, in tests carried out following Valencia CF's game at Mestalla against Real Madrid. The centre back remained in hospital overnight and will undergo further tests."

Euro Foot also gave an update on the player's condition as they shared a message from Diakhaby on X. The message read, "Thank you for your messages. I can't answer for the moment, but I'm doing well family! God is in control."

After dropping crucial points in the league, Carlo Ancelotti's side will now shift their focus to European football as they are all set to take on RB Leipzig in the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 fixture on Wednesday.
