    WHAT HAPPENED?

FC Utrecht stunned Eredivisie leaders Ajax with a 4-0 win and U.S. international Paxten Aaronson played a role in the rout.

Sebastian Haller started the scoring in the 29th minute. Miguel Rodriguez then scored twice, once in the 52nd minute and once in the 63rd minute, to effectively put the game out of reach. Aaronson, though, added one more to Utrecht's tally, netting in the 85th minute to put an exclamation mark on a massive win for his side.

The win puts Utrecht level on points (59) with third-placed Feyenoord, though De Trots van Zuid remain at third due to having a game in hand.

With the goal, Aaronson now has double-digit goal contributions in the Eredivisie, having now scored seven goals while providing three assists. A bulk of those goals have come against the league's best as he's now scored against each of the league's top three.

The midfielder, who is on loan from Eintracht Frankfurt, has helped FC Utrecht push for a European place as they now sit fourth in the league.
