    Zendejas shines again

Zendejas continues to be Club América’s most decisive attacking force in the Apertura 2025. With head coach André Jardine still searching for a consistent starting striker - rotating between Rodrigo Aguirre and José Zúñiga while captain Henry Martín remains sidelined - it has been the creative players carrying the scoring load. Once again, Brian Rodríguez, Allan Saint-Maximin, and Zendejas led the charge, and it was the American who sealed a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Atlético de San Luis with a late winner to bring home three crucial points.

'We’ve had a great team for several years'

Zendejas dedicated his goal to injured teammates Martín, Dagoberto Espinoza (out for the season with a torn ACL), and Jonathan Dos Santos, highlighting the unity within the squad.

“We’ve had a great team for several years, and these games are for our teammates who are going through tough times,” he said.

    A special night for Jardine

The triumph also marked André Jardine’s 100th Liga MX match, fittingly against Atlético de San Luis, the club where he began his managerial career in Mexico.

“He’s the coach who gave us the three-peat. We wanted to give him this joy - he’s a special manager, and it’s great that this victory came in such an important stadium for him,” Zendejas explained.
