    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Liverpool failed to win any of those, picking up just two points from a possible 12, but they have enjoyed capturing a 20th top-flight crown and revelling in public parties that were denied them when winning a first Premier League title during the Covid-19 pandemic of 2020.

  • WHAT ALISSON SAID

The Reds finally got their hands on the much sought-after trophy on the final day of the 2024-25 campaign, with Alisson admitting that he is feeling a little drained after a month of wild celebrations.

The Brazil international goalkeeper told Optus Sport: "To be honest I am a little bit tired of partying! Four weeks in a row celebrating after the game against Spurs. Today everything is full, everything is complete, we will celebrate a lot."

    DID YOU KNOW?

Questions were asked of whether Liverpool could compete for the biggest of honours after seeing Jurgen Klopp depart in the summer of 2024. However, Dutch tactician Slot has delivered a title triumph in his debut campaign.

Explaining how that happened, Alisson added: "I think it's difficult to compare one season to another - last season we fight and tried, but sometimes things don't work out the way you plan.

"I can highlight the things we did this season, and one of them was the commitment from the players, from the staff, from the manager, everybody committed to give their best each game no matter what, no matter what the circumstances were. We came here every matchday to win every game."
