French forward will be allowed to move on
Will free up squad space & funds at Old Trafford
Has been with the Red Devils since 2015
WHAT HAPPENED?
The France international forward penned a five-year deal in 2019 that can be extended through to 2025. However, according to The Athletic, the 28-year-old forward will be allowed to leave Old Trafford in 2024. He will reach free agency at the end of the season if no sale is agreed in January – United’s last opportunity to bring in a fee.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
United are eager to move Martial on as he has been underperforming on the field and would free up a space in Erik ten Hag’s squad, as well as funds on a big-money wage bill. The Frenchman has taken in 19 appearances this season, but only seven one those have been starts and he is yet to complete a full 90 minutes.
