The quality of Tigres' football has varied depending on whether they are playing at home or away this year, with the exception of two away games in all competitions, where they managed to score six goals in their last two games played at Estadio Universitario. Tigres are typically the aggressors with an up-tempo style of play.
They have never lost the first leg of a CCL semifinal match, and they are undefeated at home in CCL this season.
La Fiera has had numerous chances to gain direct qualification for the Liga MX Clausura playoffs, and they seem to be hitting their stride fully in this competition.
The 2021 Leagues Cup champions have never advanced past the quarterfinals of the CCL but they have been steadily improving each year. They starred in the round of 16 in 2020–21 and lost to the eventual champions, Seattle Sounders. They had reached the last eight the previous season, and have now booked their name in the last four.
