‘Stick with us’ – Wrexham rallying cry for Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney as Luke Bolton reacts to shock run of four straight defeats

The Red Dragons have grown accustomed to winning, with the National League title secured in record-breaking style last season. Positive progress in 2023-24 carried them into the League Two promotion places, with top spot seemingly within reach at one stage.

A few bumps in the road have been hit of late, with four successive defeats suffered across all competitions. Phil Parkinson has vowed to turn the tide, with January signing Luke Bolton adding on collective efforts at SToK Racecourse: “Obviously no-one wants to lose games. The gaffer doesn't want to lose and the players don't want to lose. I just say stick with us because it will change, the quality in that changing room is more than enough to get us up. We need to stick together and we will because we are a close-knit group. We can't dwell on things. Things will turn and I am sure we will be back on track. As long as you are at it and working hard, the results will come. Once we turn the corner, it will be up to us to keep that run going.”

Bolton joined Wrexham from Salford during the winter window and has made two substitute appearances so far, as he battles with Ryan Bennett for a right wing-back berth. He added on his personal efforts in North Wales: “I have really enjoyed it. The lads have been great and it has been good working with Steve Parkin and the gaffer. I need to be patient. Barney was really good on Saturday so having two wing-backs who like to get at people is a good dilemma for the gaffer. Whenever I get the opportunity I will try and get at people, get fans off their seats and do whatever I can for the team.”

Wrexham will be back in action on Tuesday when taking in a trip to Sutton. Parkinson’s side have slipped to fifth in the League Two table, but boast games in hand on all of those around them and are still determined to wrap up a top-three finish.
