According to <a href="https://en.as.com/soccer/sevilla-enter-the-race-for-gio-reyna-nottingham-forest-and-marseille-interested-n/?outputType=amp" target="_blank">AS</a>, the Spanish side are a suitor this window, and are looking to move for Reyna. Per the report, the 21-year-old has a desire to play in La Liga, and as a result, the Seville-based club could jump ahead of both Forest and Marseille in the race for his signature.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Earlier this week, it was reported that Dortmund agreed a loan deal with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/gio-reyna-usmnt-nottingham-forest-transfer-borussia-dortmund/bltb139265a8612fc34" target="_blank">Nottingham Forest </a>and then Ligue 1 side <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/marseille-gio-reyna-transfer-nottingham-forest-loan-move-usmnt/blt6572910cd9089d40" target="_blank">Marseille</a>. The Black and Yellow then left it up to the clubs to determine personal terms and come to an agreement on that front. With no news since, Sevilla have now thrown their name into the hat for the American midfielder.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Real Sociedad were also interested in Reyna this window, but the monetary figures did not fit their evaluation. As a result, the window has opened for other clubs to express their interest.

If a transfer does not happen by the end of the January window, Reyna will be stuck with the Black and Yellow for the remainder of the campaign. Until then, though, he is a Dortmund player - and they next report to the pitch on Sunday in Bundesliga action against VFL Bochum.
