'You're f***ing losing!' - Roy Keane left fuming by goalkeeper's performance in League Two clash with Man Utd icon threatening to 'hang around the dressing room' and confront him

Former Manchester United player Keane revealed how peeved he was at Milton Keynes Dons goalkeeper Tom McGill following their 1-0 loss to Salford City on Monday. The Irishman felt the Brighton loanee was taking too many touches and that when the final whistle blew, he felt like going to "hang around the dressing room" to stress the importance of getting back into the League Two game.

He said on the Stick to Football podcast: “The craziness I find when players are coming up playing out the back when they're losing. The goalkeeper was coming out, he was taking seven or eight touches...I was going to hang around the dressing room after the match and see the MK Dons goalkeeper and ask him, going 'You know when you're losing with 15 minutes [left]... you're f***ing losing!’”

Keane added: “You know in American sports, the time out. After 70 minutes you just do the time out. The lads will come over to you and you can go 'Lads, you know we're losing, you have to get the ball down there'. [You see] 19 passes. MK Dons. Who do you think you are? Get it forward. It's as if they don't know what the score is.”

Keane's rant was part of a wider conversation where the panel spoke about how so many teams play out from the back, even to the point where they are their own worst enemy. The influence of managers such as Pep Guardiola have had a huge impact on how football is played in England and Europe, with many coaches adopting similar styles to the Manchester City boss. Despite Keane's frustrations, that tactic is here to stay.

McGill, 24, will likely continue in between the sticks for MK Dons on Saturday when they host Walsall in League Two action. The Canadian has been brought up by Brighton as a ball-playing keeper and his approach is unlikely to change, either.
