Wrexham co-owner Rob McElhenney roasts JJ Watt over Super Bowl haircut with hilarious NSYNC reference - after NFL legend & Burnley chief sees new style come under fire

McElhenney, Wrexham co-owner, posted on X an edited version of a famous NSYNC album cover featuring Burnley co-owner Watt's new hairdo as though he were one of the bandmembers. This was in response to Watt's suggestion that people "notice" a fashion change in that department.

Aside from the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift, Usher and the new Wicked movie trailer, plenty of talk around the Super Bowl in Las Vegas was directed at retired NFL legend Watt. The Clarets chief's "electrocuted" look - as Green Bay Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari put it - that he decided to debut on CBS was put heavily under the spotlight, with McElhenney taking those jokes into the following day.

Watt, who bought his minority stake in Burnley in 2023, has previously revealed taking notes from the way McElhenney and Ryan Rynolds have approached things in charge of Wrexham.

"The most important thing always comes back to knowing and understanding the fabric of the town and the history and the traditions, and respecting and honouring that," he said in December. "That's what is most important. These clubs have been here long, long before we have and will be here long, long after we go. It's just a matter of doing right by all those people."

Success with their respective teams is the ambition for both men. McElhenney is determined to see Wrexham secure successive promotions to start next season in League One, but their their recent form has taken a hit with four straight defeats, leaving the Red Dragons just out of League Two's all-important top three. For Watt, the target at Burnley is simply Premier League survival after returning to the top flight. The Clarets have work to do though, sitting in 19th place and seven points adrift of safety.
