Richarlison set for Brazil recall! Carlo Ancelotti ready to call up Tottenham striker after Europa League heroics as striker eyes first cap since 2023

After a campaign plagued by injuries and inconsistency, the forward found redemption when Tottenham secured a thrilling Europa League final win over Manchester United. The triumph in Europe could serve as a springboard for Richarlison’s return to the international stage. Reports from Brazilian outlet GE confirm that the winger is expected to be included in Ancelotti's final 23-man selection for the World Cup qualifiers against Ecuador and Paraguay. Should he make the cut, it would be his first national team appearance since October 2023.

After a difficult start to the campaign, marred with months of intermittent appearances, Richarlison rejoined the matchday squad in early April, starting on the bench against Southampton. From that point, he slowly rebuilt his match fitness, earning starts in four games while making substitute appearances in another four. Despite not fully recapturing his form, Richarlison managed to finish the season with five goals and two assists in 27 appearances.

The opportunity to work again under Ancelotti, who previously coached him at Everton, appears to have been motivating Richarlison. Speaking about the prospect of being included in Brazil’s final squad, the forward said: "Since you’re talking about it, it’s good that I’m on the preliminary list. I hope to be called up, I worked with Ancelotti (at Everton), I had my two best seasons in Europe with him. If I return, I’ll be very happy. I think the players will respect more with him there, a winner, someone who knows the path to victory. They’ll run more on the field to sweat it out.”

Talking about his difficult campaign in North London, Richarlison added: "I gave my life on the field, I got cramps in both calves, very intense. A difficult season, injuries, and even getting into rhythm is difficult. I hope to have a good pre-season, I haven’t had one in two years."

With the Europa League title in his hands and a potential Brazil comeback on the horizon, Richarlison appears ready to write the next chapter of his career. All eyes will be on Monday’s announcement, as the CBF unveils the 23-man roster to kick off a new era under Ancelotti.
