    According to The Telegraph, the primary reason why the Crystal Palace star picked the Bavarian club over the Blues was the temptation to play in the Champions League next season. The striker met the club officials and new manager Vincent Kompany where he was briefed about the Belgian's vision for the team. He reportedly did not opt to move to Germany for financial reasons but was attracted to the rich history of the Bundesliga giants.

    Along with the West London side, Manchester United were also keen on securing the 22-year-old's signature as they look to bolster their attack ahead of the 2024/25 season.
