'PSG are boring and not a single player excites me' - Emmanuel Petit slams Luis Enrique's troops as Champions League dream takes another hit

Legendary French midfielder Emmanuel Petit lambasted Paris Saint-Germain's disappointing showing in their 1-0 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday, calling them a "boring" team to watch. Bayern centre-back Kim Min-jae scored the game's only goal in the 38th minute to seal a crucial win, as PSG struggled to come up with a response away from home.

Since their season-opening victory over Girona, PSG have failed to secure another win in the Champions League. The recent defeat to the Bundesliga powerhouses has left them outside the knockout places, with just three games remaining in the group stage. With PSG's progression to the next round under real threat, Petit - who played for Monaco, Barcelona, Arsenal, and Chelsea - let out his frustration at not seeing the French outfit perform well when it comes to Europe.

"Football is emotion and I don't feel any emotion watching Paris Saint-Germain," Petit said (h/t MARCA). "I don't feel any emotion with any of the players. Sometimes I force myself, I really want to believe it, I want to think that at some point everything will work out in their favour, that Luis Enrique's performance will take shape, but I don't feel any emotion. There is not a single player who excites me. Even in the collective expression of the team, I get considerably bored.

"I am neither a supporter of PSG nor anti-PSG, but I want the French teams to win. When I comment on the games, I am very French and I fully support the French clubs. But I can't even get excited about a Paris Saint-Germain Champions League game."

While the results in the Champions League haven't been in their favour, PSG have certainly not shown mercy on teams in the Ligue 1. After 12 games, they have 10 wins and two draws, along with a healthy six-point lead at the top of the table. Their next game is against Nantes at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, November 30.
