Aubameyang is returning to the club on a free transfer, having left for Saudi Arabia at the end of the 2023-24 campaign. And in doing so, he was met by a huge gaggle of fans, who greeted him with applause and chants.

Aubameyang played 51 times for Marseille in 23-24, scoring 30 goals and registering 11 assists. He departed the club to head to the Middle East, joining Al-Qadsiah on a two-year contract, but he left the club at the end of the season and is now preparing for his homecoming. In Saudi Arabia, he scored 21 times in 36 games.

Aubameyang will complete his move and could make his debut for Marseille when they play Sevilla on August 2 in a pre-season friendly as he aims to forge a working relationship with Mason Greenwood up front.
