'I have to tell you again?' - Pep Guardiola reluctantly lavishes public praise on Erling Haaland for breaking 'another record' in Man City's comeback win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League

    The Norwegian international scored as City picked up a 3-2 win over RB Leipzig in a Champions League clash to become the youngest and the fastest player to reach 40 goals in the competition. He has managed to achieve the milestone in just 35 games, 10 matches less than Ruud van Nistelrooy, who was the previous record holder. City manager Guardiola is used to seeing his star player shatter records and wasn't best pleased when pushed into praising him again in public.

    Speaking to reporters in a post-match press conference, Guardiola said: "Again? I have to tell you again? A thousand million times, I'm really impressed. They won today. Another record. Congratulations. He's a fantastic player. I tell you many times, we're really, really pleased. We love him, not just for the goals he scores, but for many many other things."

    Haaland also became the fastest player to reach 50 Premier League goals when he scored against Liverpool on Saturday in his 48th match in the English top-flight. He smashed the previous tally of 65 games, which was held by Manchester United legend Andy Cole.

    After maintaining their hundred per cent win record in the Champions League, City will now aim to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League table when they face Tottenham on Sunday. Guardiola's side will be back in action three days later away at Aston Villa.
