Pep Guardiola confirms he will 'stop' after Man City exit as legendary manager reflects on the legacy he wants to leave behind

Guardiola was asked about his legacy ahead of City's clash with Wolves on Friday, stating that people can "remember me however they want" but that he believes fans of the clubs he's managed have enjoyed supporting his teams.

Guardiola said: "I want people to remember me however they want. After my contract with City, I'm going to stop. I'm sure. I don't know if I'm going to retire, but I'm going to take a break. How I want to be remembered, I don't know. All coaches want to win so we can have a memorable job, but I believe that the fans of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and City had fun watching my teams play. I don't think we should ever live thinking about whether we're going to be remembered."

Guardiola signed a new two-year deal with City earlier this season, keeping him at the club until 2027. After a disappointing league campaign, he is aiming to rebuild his side to compete for top honours again from next season.

City host Wolves on Friday before travelling to Southampton next weekend. They also have the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace to come in the middle of May.
